Why did she invite her in the first place? I think she may become one of these toxic MILs, IMO the bride has dominion over her dress and her bridesmaids dresses. In this clip there are 3 highly manipulative mothers. IMO I have always thought that it was a good idea if the newlyweds moved away from both their parents so they can work things out without family interference and to help these mothers see their daughters in a different light [i.e grown up and a wife]. If the bride and groom have to depend on each other their relationship will deepen and the married bond will grow faster. Their parents mean well and it is almost impossible not to step in if you see they are struggling.

I come from a family of church musicians. When brides would come talk to me about music, I would tell them the following things: 1. Bring a checkbook. If you want a whole bunch of extra stuff (instrumentalists, soloists, etc.) they have to be paid. 2. Bring an open mind. Don't just default to all the traditional stuff that everyone else had. 3. LEAVE YOUR MOTHER AT HOME. A lot of mothers, be they nice or crazy, tend to want one of two things: they want you to have the wedding they had or they want you to have the wedding they WISHED they had. That might not be the wedding the bride and groom want. Most of the brides that didn't listen to #3 ended up regretting it. Too bad, really.

Note to the last bride with the over bearing MIL - run for ze hills!
@interestedobserver-gk3ih3 жыл бұрын
Sandy is whiny and overbearing acting like she is 12. I wish her mom had spoken and put this woman back in her own lane. If this bride doesn't start standing up to her MIL and establishing some boundaries Sandy will be making her life miserable for the rest of her days. If she thinks Sandy is difficult now wait until she becomes a grandmother. Granted there is not much she can do while living under her roof: a huge mistake IMO. Pink Obsession: I understand that mom is having a hard time letting go but this pink obsession seems a little strange; her daughter is wearing white so why does she care so much what color the other girls are wearing? I think it is a good thing that this young couple are moving away because she is having such a problem letting go. But then I always think it is a good idea for a newly wedded couple to move away from family because it will give them time to work things out together with out family involvement. But in this case I get the impression she has made her daughter the center of her world and I think she is going to have a very difficult time one she is gone. Neckline Hater: I detest women who resort to tears to get their way. Enough said. I can see why the daughter is rebelling because I bet this isn't the first time mom bawled about something in the wedding planning to get her way. As a side note I have marveled as to how young many of these brides are who are getting married before they have experienced life on their own. It is not a bad thing but it is a sad thing. In some cases it must be a welcome relief though to get away from mothers who seem to want to script their daughter's life for them.

Honestly, just watching all these mothers, reminds me of my own. Has to be in everyone's business at all times; and _must_ be in charge of everything, or she'll make your life Hell. Throwing temper tantrums like a child; screaming, crying, and swearing at anyone and everyone that doesn't go along with what she wants. Makes me contemplate if I want to include my mom in my own wedding plans, when that big day comes (if it does). As much as I love my mom, cause she's my mom, I already know she's gonna try taking over and plan my wedding the way _she_ wants it; basically becoming a mom-zilla (instead of me being a bride-zilla).

I have been blessed with an AMAZING mom( I am 15½and saying this!) But I don't know if I would want my mom coming to my bridesmaid dress shopping. I think it should just be between the bride and her friends!!!
