I absolutely love the Chanel foundation. I just did a massive declutter of my makeup and the Chanel stayed. I only kept 6 foundations and it made the cut.

I just used my L’Oréal foundation this morning and again was blown away by how much I love it. I have mostly drugstore to mid range foundations with only 1 boujee one for those times I want to feel ‘high end’ 😉… Pub nights lol Thanks for testing it out for us. Beauty store points are so great for helping out with those crazy purchases. That’s the only way I’d buy that too.

With the cost of everything pretty much continuing to rise, I find I have less money for cosmetic splurges than in the past. (Not to mention the lack of in-store availability where I live.) The quality of drugstore products has improved so much over the past few years, though, that it really doesn't seem like such a hardship to confine most of my shopping to the more affordable products. Not judging anyone for their preferences either way! Thanks for a great video, Cat, so enjoyable and informative as always. Please give my regards to Tabby TuTu, that girl has such a sweet face!

When I realized how exclusive the Chanel foundation was, I was thinking perhaps it's geared to make us want it even more! Ugh! And I think Tabby Tutu agrees! Hello @ginestrian and @theHighLight ❤️ After a 12 hour wear test, the Chanel was the clear winner, and this was without any touch ups. The L'Oreal Tinted Balm started fading after 8 hours, although I didn't use primer with either foundation, so that could be a contributing factor! I hope this helps you! Hi Cat, I haven't watched any videos about Chanel No. 1 so didn't know what to expect. Both foundations look great on you. I'll try the L'oreal Balm and save $55.00 At least you have a nice "bougie" foundation for the holidays. I hope your sniffles get better soon. Great review. I've been wondering about the Chanel No. 1. I've been so tempted to try it for my 63 y.o. dry skin. I still have pretty good texture, but I am starting to notice it's changing a bit. Salt NY has spoiled me. It's such a beautiful product and incredibly priced. I use mostly cream complexion products now with just a little bit of powder to set. I will skip the Chanel and just keep using my Salt NY. Thank you!

Cat, my lovely neighbor! I'm sneezing my head off, too. I know here it's the grass seed heads blowing around in our pasture area, ugh, but change of seasons is so up and down, how do we ever survive it? Hope you feel better soon. I absolutely adore the L'Oreal (I wrote Maybelline at first, geez) 4 in 1 balm foundation. And I owe it all to you. Your review of that foundation is what put me over the edge and made me buy it. I apply with a beauty sponge, just dip into the pot and it is so lovely on the skin! I do two passes on certain areas and it looks wonderful. I also love Milani primers, both the SPF one and the rose one. Hey, I want that foundation that brings me coffee, but my husband does that already.You know my take on this stuff...if you can spend less than $20, why would you spend more? Yup, that's me and you know it by now! I also like that the balm foundation has no discernible scent. I will definitely repurchase when mine is gone. It's now one of my top three now, rounded out by the l'Oreal True Match Nude and Age Perfect Radiant Foundation. I'm trying out the NYX Born to Glow, but I'm not a fan of how runny it is out of a tube so it's an accident waiting to happen. As far as longevity, the No. 1 Chanel foundation won against the L'Oreal Tinted Balm, and that was a 12 hour wear test! The Tinted Balm wire off, but the Chanel hung in there, beautifully! It's $20, but you don't have to curl your lashes, no clumps and it lengthens even my stumpy lashes! And my favorite loose powder is the Dominique Cosmetics Translucent Blur powder! Great comparison Cat! I actually think the Chanel looks more beautiful, I think it more luminous. For the price difference and my budget I’d have to purchase the L’Oréal. I’m debating on buying the full bottle which is now 78$ shoot I wish it was still 70 I have the smaller bottle in bdo1 which is beautiful. But the shade range is horrible because b10 is far more darker then bd01 and their are so many shades missing in between each shade I think ..

Omg @ChloeLow. It has gone up in price! Wow! I bought mine at Ulta using my points, but on the Chanel website, do they have other shades between BD01 and B10? I would definitely make sure I'd get a perfect shade match at that price! I just checked Chanel's website, and there's nothing between BD01 and B10 😞what a bummer! I wiah they made a travel size!

@@CatsEyeBeauty that’s how I first tried this foundation. I bought the travel size bottle on Mercari. But they don’t sell that size I think they are the ones that are in the boutiques that they use to shade match and are on display for customers to try on .. I got mine in package solid glass bottle .. it was beautiful smelled beautiful and looked beautiful. And yes only bdo1 is closest to my fair skin . I have someone on Mercari now who has b10 brand new in box for 40$ but I’m afraid it will be to dark :( 78 $ is so expensive but I want it so bad .. so fingers crossed I find it cheaper and my shade on Mercari ;)

Is there denatured alcohol in Chanel? Another YT channel states most drugstore brands have alcohol while high end does not.

Hello @Midlife Mom 🥰 I read through all the ingredients for the Chanel foundation and there is no denatured alcohol listed, which is a good thing!
