I recommend using a barbell pad on the jump squat. When you leave the ground and land, the barbell hurts the heck out your back unless you keep it real tight, but that just takes away from the focus of being explosive in my opinion

it is dangerous to jump with weight on your back, i agree with what your saying but using dumbells or a trapbar would be a lot safer

Only when your body hasn’t been built to withstand that. It’s like people used to say knees over toes was bad for you. Yeah if you didn’t train for it.
