What were a few of your favorite cars of the 1960s, and did you happen to own any of the cars that we discussed in this video? If so, let us know in the comments. And while you’re at it, feel free to debate about what you think was the most iconic car of the decade! The sixties were famous - and perhaps infamous to some - for being a time of revolutionary change in the realms of fashion, music, politics, and culture. Aside from flower power, psychedelic-fueled rock music, and political activism, the 60s also gave us some of the most iconic vehicle designs in the history of transportation.

The 60s heralded the rise of what’s known as the ‘Big Three’ - the trio of vehicle manufacturers comprised of Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors. Together, along with several other American Brands, these manufacturers absolutely dominated the market both domestically and internationally.
Everything from the economy, luxury, and power-hungry muscle cars flooded the market as the American car industry boomed. It didn’t matter who you were, what your bank account looked like, or what aesthetic you were into, there was something for everyone! In this video, we’re going to be taking a little trip down memory lane while looking at some of the elegant, innovative, and sporty cars from the decade that wasn’t afraid to buck tradition and experiment with bold, new ideas.

I had a 69 Firebird too. Three speeding tickets the first 6 months I had it. One in NY, one in CT and one in NJ. Lucky for me states didn't exchange info in those days. I out ran a MA State Trooper with it too. I pegged the speedometer at 160 mph and still had room on the gas pedal. Young and dumb!

My mom had a powder blue '65 convertible Mustang and I've owned many in my life time. 😊 We also had a Bug but in 2000-2012 years. Mom also had one of those same color as her Mustang, in the late 60's. All my Mustangs had to be convertible and arrest me red. 😀 My daddy had a classic t-bird convertible in pale yellow with a black convertible top. Thank you for allowing me to recall so many wonderful memories. 😊❤️

-After seeing a brand new red Mustang at the NY Worlds Fair, I just knew i had to get one at the end of our long trip to another state. I did have to wait almost a year but i finally got my new Red Mustang w/the 289 & automatic and even had air condition. I had to pay extra But it was well worth it mostly because that state was a very hot & humid state. My new girl friend did not like it in hot cars & most of my friends did not have AC, So i had the advantage over them. So many good memories with that Mustang that i wish i had it back just as it was when it was brand new.

I have never owned any of the cars mentioned in this video. My parents had a 1964 Volkswagen Beetle that they bought in Germany. You mentioned that the Buick Riviera was made from 1963-1965. That car was made until the 1980's. Of the cars mentioned in this video, my favorite car would have been the '68 Thunderbird.

I bought a 67 Olds 442, but in the 80s. That thing could bring both front wheels off the pavement. It wasn't totally stock, but It had a blown engine hen I got it, and I had a 66 442 with an engine a friend o mine rebuilt that had maybe 35,000 on it. I got broadsided in it 6 days after I registerd it, so I was happy to get that 67 for $800 and swap the engines out. The 67 had new apolstry Paint Tires and exhaust. It had the old style American mags on it also. The paint it had on it was a dark metalic blue.

@@FactsVerse I'm currently driving a 2019 Nissan Rogue SL. Way back when, I traded the Charger in on an MGBGT that I couldn't drive because it was a stick shift. My boyfriend, at the time, had to drive it home from the dealership. He said, dont worry, I'll teach you to drive it over the weekend, and he did. That crazy story still makes me laugh 😁

There were a few good ones on this list but you left out ALOT of great ones!!!!!.First off you need to get this straight there are Mustangs and then there are the 1965- 70 SHELBYS, Those are the Ultimate Mustangs, Second it's Rival 1963-67Chevrolet Corvette sting rays, And also it's British rival the 1961 and later Jaguar XKE, then there was Carroll Shelbys Cobra, and then the Ferrari 250 GTO of the 1962-64Period and also all you have to do is remember Sean Connery to remember another memorable car of the 60s The Aston Martin DB series and a little bit more down to earth would be memorable cars like the 1961 - 1969 Lincoln Contential or the 1966 to 70 Oldsmobile Toronado, or even it's line mate the 1967-70 Cadillac El Doradro, and I never NEVER forgot the 1969- 72 Pontiac Grand Prix neither There were so many Memorible cars ! BTW You do know that a Ford Mustang is a Ford Falcon underneath don't you?.

Had a 66 mustang since new. 289 2bbl 3 speed std. Sold it in 2000. Fun to drive, but..... quality issues! Within the first 5 years, trunk latch broke internally, the brake/clutch pedal pivot bearing cracked, the driver door key cylinder pot metal housing cracked and fell apart, the ignition switch fell apart, the upholstery split, the padded dash split, the radiator leaked, the brake master leaked, and a trans bearing failed. After 10 yrs, the front fender rusts thru the top surface near the headlights, because they did not bother with a plastic inner fender. The salty winter slush was thrown directly at the top. Only drove about 5000 per year. Sold it because of safety. No shoulder belts. Single brake hydraulics. 4 wheel drums. Halfway down a 2 mile hill they got too hot to function. Shame on Ford. If you bought the 4bbl carb for more power, they gave you their front disc brakes. What has horsepower got to do with deserving safe braking at normal speeds? By the way, the handling improved hugely when the factory backslope was corrected to level with a rear leaf spring booster/stiffener.

-With my brand new Stang with the 289 their was no way i would let a gas station mechanic put his greasy dirty hands under the hood of my car, These gas station guys only know how to pump gas(& they can't even do that without spilling gas on the side of your new car). The only one under my hood is my best friend or myself. I don't even want them to (so called) even clean my windows.-They didn't like me one bit But i did not like there dirty azz either.-They were just ticked off b/c they had no chance of messing something up under my hood.
