There is a benefit to staying OBD2. Factory reliability and functionality. Use RomRaider. Then you can delete ews, change your tables for different size injectors, and also change your maf scaling for different maf's if you ever wanted to put boost on it.

Vems ecu makes a pnp standalone for the m52 obd2. Comes with base map,map sensor and wideband.

They put the smaller intake on the motor for more torque at low RPM. With an adjusted tune, the M50 manifold provides nice gains on the M52/S52 engine. I'm running it along with Dinan Stage 4 which includes bigger MAF, throttle body, intake and 3.5 bar fuel pressure regulator. Works great and revs out like a beast with vanos!

You don't need to replace the intake gaskets, don't know why so many people say you do. Same with the throttle body and adapter plate gaskets can also be reused.

The m50 is cast iron and you have it in m50b20 m50b25 m50b28 and the m52 is a cast aluminum and you have the m52b20 m52b25 m52b28 in the EU we have the 2.3i but it's a 2.5 with a smaller intake and it has the same intake as the 2.8 and you can make any 2.5 a 2.8 as long as you uce the crank and the connecting rods the rest off the blok is the same

Anyone who's interested- the M50 manifold flows ~40% more air than the M52. It will run without tuning but you'll see a good bit less torque with the M50. Tune, 24# injectors, and Bosch 3.5" MAF make a big difference esp with the M50 manifold. There are several companies that offer M50>M52 conversion kits that don't require OBDI conversion. #publicserviceannouncement

Holy shit, there's so much wrong info in this vid. E36s never had chassis mounted FPRs, you don't need the obd1 harness, (especially because the coil wires, and crank/cam position sensor wires are super fucky). You san just adapt the sensors from your old harness to fit the new intake manifold, and keep the old harness. Which needs like 4 wires to start, including the oil presure light. Sometimes i wish i could fly over to you US guys and give you some knowledge, BMWs are all we ever do here.
