Hey Jarrod, I'm surprised this is available in Harvey Norman here in Australia. Would you reckon it's good go get it and then get the xg mobile down the line when a 3060 eventually comes up? I only play dota 2 and rts games on pc anyway.

Will you be benchmarking it with the eGPU in tent mode using an external monitor as well? I feel like that would be a setup many people will use at home and I'm interested to see how much of a boost that can give to performance.

Hey Jared you open with specifications indicating the 5800 HS although isn't it the 5900 HS ? Oh and I think you nailed it by testing it at the 720p resolution. Thank you! I'm feeling that this a great option for untethered mobility and still being able to play a host of good games and then when back at the desktop setup (or simply tethered wherever)... you throw on the external eGPU and you're good to go! I really hope that your eGPU testing includes an external monitor preferably something taxing like the Samsung G9 with it's high resolution and high refresh rate :) Sorry, I realize that is a lot to ask :(

Looking at the comparisons in average 1080p fps and battery life as well as the prices of laptops (at least here in Canada)... that Acer Nirto 5 with the 4600H/GTX 1650 is quite a good pick. I am quite curious about the [possibly] upcoming RTX 3050 laptops, which I hope would have GTX 1660ti like performance (or RX5600m) and the addition of the RTX-linked Nvidia Broadcast for those better camera visuals and noise suppression on the go.

Do you think the (2020) Razer Blade 15 Base Model with an i7-10750H + 2070MQ is worth $1430? I recently got one brand new on Amazon for that price and I've been wanting to hear your opinion on it. Also I loved the video! It'd be awesome to buy the Flow X13 but 3k is a biiiit too far out of my budget lol. Plus I think you could get close to the same performance for way cheaper.

Hey, im looking to buy a gaming laptop soon and I was wondering if you can compare these two. The rp-15 and the Omen 15 ryzen chip version. Since you've done a video on the rp 15 they currently upgraded it to a 6GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 so I don't know how much of a difference that would make?Thanks

Honestly I don't have any dusty laptops so have never considered it. Most I have are either borrowed review units that get sent back after 2-3 weeks, or my own personal things are used for testing then packed away until I need them again.

Curious if theres any thermal benefits of this being a 2-in-1. If you have the keyboard face down with the fans exposed would give you any cooler temps or if their raising keyboard design makes them essentially equal.

Will there be comparisons between 3060 and 2060 laptops? There's been a lot of deals of 2060 and not sure if it'll be worth waiting for the 3060 or just getting the 2060 while it's cheaper now.

Hey Jarrod, I believe the 40W dynamic boost is available when the laptop is in tent mode as that allows for maximum air intake to cool the components. Do check this and update us on the same, would be highly appreciated!

Even in tent mode I noticed when running Valley benchmark it never went past 35W but when playing Warzone it was hovering around 39W. I was using Turbo profile at the time but haven't tested does it actually need Turbo profile for the dynamic boost.

In thinking about it, I think this laptop is about a generation or 2 from being something I'd want. I do think a portable 13.3 with some gaming ability makes sense but I'd want something like Rembrandt with RDNA 2 on the chip to reduce cost (and which would likely outperform the 1650) and an actual desktop graphics card in a DGPU that could actually be upgraded. I'm ok with the connection, but why gimp it with a non upgradeable laptop GPU?

Is the dgpu(3050ti) usable on its usb-c/hdmi port when using an external monitor? (Just saw info on reddit that dgpu won't kick in as it isn't connected to either ports) Wanted to buy 3050ti model but it would be useless as I'd be using it in an external display most of the time 😑

What's the size difference between the 1650 max q, 1660ti max q and 2060 max q? Because why does the flow x13 only have a 1650 max q while the 14-inch G14 can fit a low wattage 3060. I wonder if asus could fit a 1660ti max q in that form factor

Sliding the CPU bars all the way over in armory crate should send more power to the cpu - maybe that’s why dynamic boost didn’t work on the GPU?

Quick question : So i was traveling amd i kept my laptop inside a sleeve and the bag had thick padding but by mistake it fell on floor (on the rubber feet side) and i got really worried that i maybe corrupted my hard drive but everything seems to be working good so I don't need to worry right? 😅

I use 900p while playing on my tuf a15. Tbh I don't see any diff while dropping resolution from 1080p to 900p but 1080p to 720p doesn't look good

Here it is - Looking forward to this - The Razer Blade with OLED screen is not on your response time list. - do you know it offhand? - 720p is the right gaming res for the x13 which is why it should be a 1440p only monitor. - its not a gaming powerhouse, but the CPU is amazing - which will appeal to programmers, but the keyboard & screen is just not at the level required for coding, - 1080p is just too low for working with code all day. - the price still makes it quite appealing. - Give me the Razer keyboard layout, a bigger trackpad & a 1440p monitor with decent response rates for $1.5k - done deal.
