First, I love your videos, but I disagree in Strefan's case. I built Strefan's deck, it is a buster in casual tables. Extremely fast and efficient.

Millicent is the only ranking I would change. For a tribe that desperately needed a commander, she provides value in the Spirits she can make, the cost-reduction, and the board-wipe protection. She is in my A tier.

I definitely agree. Does everything spirits care about. Makes a wide board, protects from removal, reduces her own mana cost after a sweeper. She’s very powerful in the right deck. A tier sounds right!

This is correct. A tier for sure. Spirits have gotten great support in the last few sets and this gives them a powerful home. Commander tax reduction is historically OP.

sadly Kamber's preview card was confirmed to be an older draft that accidentally got into the reveal. The real card only triggers when an opponent's creature dies

I believe Strefan is better than Edgar Charmed Groom and Anje. I think you're underrating Strefan a bit, I put him in Edgar's spot in B tier, and move Edgar down to C tier.

For strefan, focus more on the blood token generation with arterial alchemy in play(each blood token counts as equipment with equip 2 and target creature gets +2/+0)

While Odric doesn't make a great commander himself, he's fucking brilliant in the 99 of my Mardu equipment deck where all of the creatures have different static abilities and has a side combo relying on having a ton of artifacts on the board

The real question is, which Dimir commander from this set is the best to build? The one that doubles attackers, or triples sea monsters? The brutal slug that decays the field, while growing your value? The horror that quickly exiles decks?

Toxrill is probably the strongest or one of the strongest commanders that released this amd last year. Proliferation and sludge monster makes him board wipe every turn and with enough protection the entire game is in your hands to win

9/10 times it’s an instant scoop if they don’t have a removal card in hand. Even if they do In commander there are lots of ways to protect your commander. It’s a great commander

13:57 I honestly brewed a deck around Edgar here and named it "Let Edgar Sleep, Dammit" Long story short, its built to utilize board wipes and spot removal, keep using said spells until opponents run out of gas and just win out with vampire tokens

Laurine and Kimber don't even synergise since Kimber's wording was wrong in the spoilers. It only triggers when opponents' creatures die. Your sacs don't trigger him :/

Laurine is quite good by her self since you can sack artifacts or creatures to Goad opponents boards. But I do agree with their ratings as a partner pair.

Yeah, it’s a great commander. It demands attention immediately or you will just continuously kill every opponent’s creatures. I went for -1/-1 counter and cycling as themes. What focus does yours have?

Put Dark Depths in too, even if someone goes to exile Marit Lage, you eat it at the cost of losing indestructible and get another 20/20. Then you ask if they want to eat more removal.

i think olivia should not be where she is, she indeed have a good triggered ability, but 6 mana in rakdos, for a casual deck will definetely problems to work. i would put her on C class.

She is way better than you understand, the important part is you keep the creatures until you don't control a legendary vampire so in a slightly legendary heavy vampire tribal your toys never get exiled

Toxrill is also an infinite mana outlet that lets you draw your deck which is something.

I was planning on building Olivia as more of an ETB deck with big ETB effects, ways to make stuff come back when it dies, and ways to reanimate things. Olivia would essentially just be there to reanimate things on demand

Just a heads-up, Kamber is actually misprinted. The oracle text, which is correctly printed on the extended art version, says "whenever a creature AN OPPONENT CONTROLS dies," not just any creature. So it's actually significantly weaker than it looks on the card. Probably still not so weak to slot in the D tier but worth noting.

One of only upsides I've found for Oderic is since it has white, you have access to cards like Ephemerate and Felidar Guardian. You can flicker him to spam that etb to create blood tokens and use them for. Something. Atogs maybe? Red has some uses for artifacts for direct damage. Whatever deck Oderic is at the helm of is going to be full of jank to make it work lol.

I think you are wildly underestimating Strefan, he's easily my strongest commander. Not only are there a bunch of large vampires that are amazing to cheat out (playing a patron of the vein for free on turn 3-5 usually puts you in a huge advantage), include a couple ways to guarantee damage on each player and ways to weaponize the blood like ghirapur aethergrid or reckless fireweaver and you'll be doing tons of chip damage on top of your powerful vampire board. I definitely think he's stronger than Groom Edgar or Anje as a vamp tribal commander.

Just one small note concerning Odric: That last snetence is in reminder text, not rules text. The ability would need to be completely reworded if it woud be supposed to allow mechanics to count twice (or more) - and the most common alternative would suddenly instead not be able to count a creature with two keywords twice instead. Not sure if there even exists a single example of a card working the way you suggest - and I'm pretty sure a card like this would be even wordier than Odric. None of this changes the fact that Odric is a design train wreck, of course ;)

I feel that we look at some of these cards that are legendary and are like these are crap commanders but some of the lower tiers besides D and some in B tier should be looked at as what they can do in the 99. I've seen what some of them can do and how they combo off from playing on spelltable even the precon decks are stronger than some of the precons that I have and also edited to make them better.

So I pulled Toxrill from the prerelease draft and I really want to build a power budget deck around him but he is so expensive as a commander and the tax would be crazy. Is there a card that you can play that let's you select a creature or card type and play the cards of the chosen type for a lower cost?

A note about Kamber that actually makes him/her even worse, the text was miss printed, it's supposed to say whenever a creature a opponent controls dies. Not whenever a creature dies.

I feel like Rhonda and Timmin are better than people think as Stax Commanders. Timmin taps down the opponent boards on their turns, but doesn't need to attack or be tapped/untapped to work. Rhonda gains the counters and can swing in without being impacted by the stax pieces in U/W. You play things like Verity Circle, Archon of Emeria, Static Orb, etc. and keep your opponents limited to one spell a turn, Timmin makes their creature spells irrelevant, and Rhonda swings without being slowed down by the Stax.

I was lucky to pull Grolnok from my first pack having only downloaded the game recently… I built a deck around him and it’s great essential cards would be wren and seven and froghemoth, another good option is a card called grazillaxx, for me my deck isn’t finished but there are duel lands for green/blue plenty of good solid spells to get your damage through eg sleep and whatever else you have available to give yourself options (card drawing or land drawing spells are very useful) hope this helps any questions let me know.

Eruth gets even better. If you blink it before the end of the turn, the next time you play it you get access to all the cards exiled the turn it was blinked. As the end of the turn effect never triggered they are still useable!!!

I would have probably done Katilda as C as while another big beater commander is pretty boring for white, I personally think the color is actually pretty solid in its Enchantress department and Katilda works as a “passable” payoff you can have in the command zone

I think Strefan combine with Conspiracy would make a powerful combo, since you are in black there are plenty of tutoring cards. Just the thought of cheating out an Eldrazi or a Dragon with his effect would be funny.

Strefan is great becuase in his precon they made good 5cmc vampires. Indistructible is also silly. There is yhe figth vampire and you can do a bit with it. A b for me but i get what you mean

Geralf is definitely not a great commander but I think he's good in the 99 of regular old zombie tribal. The other predominant option to give zombies flying costs one or two more mana if I'm not mistaken.

there are 7 cards with the commander set symbol only to be found in set boosters. similar to the last set, you can get every other new commander card in set boosters as well.

I'm currently doing grolnok with landfall triggers and stuff like lab man or thoracle as the main win cons. Running hedron crab and a spell to get you multiple lands from your library generates a ton of fast mill.

I run Runo. He's an absolute monster. Pro Runo Tip: don't lean too hard into sea monsters. Use the sea monsters with strong ETBs and anything else with strong ETBs. Also buried alive/reanimate stuff. Finish it off with anything that makes non legendary clones as non legendary copies of Runo make infinite copies of themselves. 🤤

I love Grolnok. Built a self mill around him. Use Hermit Druid and put no basic lands in the deck. Cast Thassa's Oracle or Lab MAc from exile and boom.

My Toxrill deck is undefeated* so far. 6-8 wins or so. I say undefeated with an asterisk because the one time it lost it lost to an uro/oko deck that stole cards and they got my Toxrill and won with it. So it won, but it wasn’t mine at the time 😅

Jacob seems stier to me. Low cmc, loots away your extra turns and can cheat out enter the infinite from hand/tol. I can even see him in cedh as a turbo turns deck like edric, but with different finisher(thassas oracle after enter the inf)

The intros on this channel went from 10 seconds to 30 seconds to Mitch discovering blaming things on Eddie and somehow adding another minute and 30 seconds. Bro just put an ad honestly, prolly be more engaging than saying the same thing every intro. That's my 2 cents, i don't like the long intros. You do great videos so keep up the good work, just wanted to bring up the intro thing. All that aside thank you for the content and for both of your work. 🙏 You guys actually got me back into Magic, and I'm sure I'm not the only one coming back or, trying it out for that matter.

If I'm being completely honest, I think Umbris should've been in s tier, more or less because it's an etb ability, you have access to a whole heap of cards that can BREAK that, imagine just using reflections of littjara and panharmonicon... 4 etb exile triggers per nightmare/horror if you're running the standard 33 lands-ish per deck, cast 9 creatures and you exile someone's entire library, and that's if they have it all sitting in their library
