A NIGHT IN THE MOST REMOTE BOTHY IVE BEEN TOO. IT WAS A TOUGH SLOG IN 5.1 MILES OF ROUGH BOGGY TERRAIN, DEEP BOGS AS WELL. CARE WAS NEEDED. WE GOT THERE AND WERE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED BY HOW NICE IT WAS, WE GOT OUR GEAR SORTED AND SETTLED IN, A GREAT NIGHT. WITH SOME DAFT CARRY ON AND A FEW ALES, SAD TO LEAVE, ANOTHER GREAT TRIP WITH ROB TO THE HEBRIDES. CANT WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEARS TRIP.

Another great video Andy. Have ye ever hiked Arran or Dumfries n Galloway?. Used tae be plenty bothy's in D n G and Arran is more for wild stealth camping. I love Arran cause it's Scotland in miniature wae everything the mainland has plus more. Love the vids mate. Awe the best fae Ayrshire :).

Arran is on the list. We will definitely get there it looks great. We have hiked a few times in D&G. Merrick. Neldriken. Etc. love how quiet it is up that way. Some epic scenery too. It’s definitely on my other list to go back soon. Love the west side. Cheers for watching atb 👍

Sorry Andy this is the MBA Bothy on South Uist just south of Loch Scipport called "UISINIS". Yes it is indeed a YOMP, my bud and I who have already completed all "MBA" bothies, we spent 4 days in "UISINIS" on the first leg but I think this kind of beauty is only found by thankfully the very few.. MY Aunt aged 92 recalled to me in the 1980's the summers she spent at "UISINIS" her early summers were wonderful working and having night of music that she would fall asleep to, as a child with her father and uncles working the sheep and fishing. My Mother is from "North Uist". I'm not complaining Andy I subscribed years ago and still watch all your content. I have only now been able to make a comment that connects me to your channel.😀 .

Great story. It’s good to hear it’s been used for so long. All those memories. And now 2 more. I knew the name. I was trying to keep it anonymous 🤫 😂 the name is on the door too. It’s ok though. I have been to that Bothy, with Dave Angel ,what a night!. We saw the stars and the moon shadow, and we didn’t hurt the environment. Happy Days.❤ Glad you went there, top geezer.❤

A worry of mine is arriving early to a remote bothy and getting settled in and a group of idiots turn up, or hiking for hours to stay in one only to find it full.

That’s always the gamble unfortunately. I reckon anyone turning up here would be ok. It’s hard to navigate to. And a tough hike. But yeah. My biggest worry too. This was a Thursday so we were pretty sure we would be alone. 👍

When we were there is 2008 the rats where a problem. We found 2 in the traps and with the deepest fear burnt the 2 rats and set the traps the following day.😰
