They lost because they play hippo which means they have no clue what to do after premoving their setup. I hate chessbrahs for making this dumb opening so popular - not because it's hard to beat but because every games looks the same.

"Don't make so many pawn moves in the opening. Titled players are so good because they understand opening principles and theory." -Opponent's chess coach, probably
@vetgirig4209
@vetgirig4209 3 ай бұрын
There is this other principle - if black rushes A5/H5 you as white need to push your own A and H pawns forward.
@kekkler
@kekkler 3 ай бұрын
Titled players know theory but principles are guard rails for less experienced players. Titled players understand nuance which allows them to violate opening principles that beginners rely on. I’m not going to say that this video was an example of sound play that violates opening principles lol, but a chess coach wouldn’t say this about titled players.

Lots of lessons here! Don't play a double fianchetto opening without looking at your opponent's moves. When you neglect the center, your minor pieces can get kicked around. When the center is closed, it's less dangerous to be undeveloped and uncastled, but always look for checks/captures/threats or better yet don't break the "rules" unless you know the consequences. Beware the Qa5+ fork.
@AndreLobov
@AndreLobov 2 ай бұрын
I feel like the prime lesson is that tactics, movement, position are king. General rules for beginners state that you need to castle early, control center, etc... but GMs do bongcloud speedruns and it's totally possible to get to 2000+ elo playing some silly shit if you just understand tactics & position better than the opponent.
