The American M60A2 Starship is often overlooked in War Thunder. It doesn't seem like it would be very good, but it can be used like a less powerful and stabilized VIDAR. I had a ton of fun with it.

Attempt number 3 at getting Spookston to play any tank with a dozer blade, but the catch is that he can’t engage enemies until he digs himself in. Movement around the map is allowed, however he has to dig in again before he can engage.

Is it just me or does Spookston sound happier? Back in the day Spookstons voice sounded like he was tired all the time or even depressed. Now the way he speaks seems like he is happier and more cheerful.

It kinda suffers from being barely more mobile than this thing and having near zero armor and not great ammunition distribution. It's currently in my lineup with the M60A2 and the M3 bradley

9:51 for the uninitiated (like me 5 minutes ago) BVVD is the username of Vyacheslav Bulannikov: WT's main produced and dev. His mother's references by Chinese players are because some Chinese tanks got nerfed (back when the Chinese IS-2's repair cost was higher than the Soviet one) and that caused Chinese players to say some rather unkind things to his mom.

Yeah for me the starship was a really fun tank during the atomic heart event for me, is 50cal did well against those pesky drones and I kept on oneshotting everthing

In my experience, it's either just pain incarnate or weirdly fun, there's no in between. It *can* be a good time, but it often just doesn't feel like it's worth it

1:38 must have been so fun to play. Being able to play along your teammates is one of the coolest things in this game. Sadly its pretty rare

12:52 13:59 Tip for HE slingers like this one: remember you can trigger overpressure by landing your shell under the enemy tank. It's way easier to deal with tanks with flat or strong roofs (especially at close range or/and in flat terrain environments). I play the Bkan and I found this technique quite reliable against IS-6s and IS-3s.

you should try the ARL-44 or the AMX M4 since both shares the same gun and same ammo PCO-50 (highly recommend to use AMX M4 since the upcoming br changes moves all the 5.7 panthers to 6.0 and its funny to pen through the UFP)

I mean all things considered, it wouldn't be fair to compare the M60A2 with a T14 Armata Because the M60A2 actually existed in army units, while the T14 exists mostly in vatnik's wet dreams.

one reason why i am afraid of top tier is because i think i would be swarmed with ATGM's, but apparently my fears are unfounded because they are awful I love how the aircraft bombs you with almost pinpoint accuracy, but ground forces are apparently paid actors with how they are exposing themselves and walking into firing lines

@76trombones2 aircraft always have it easy when fighting tanks. Because tanks normally can't fight back. Kind of funny the mode is called ground and just turns into planes. Why not get rid of the planes and make a combined arms mode.

The whole chinese 8.0 linup is pretty damn op, you get stabilisers on t54’s with 240mm aphe and 390mm heat, paired with a laser rangefinder. And counting the premium too, you have practically 3 identical tanks. The type 69 being the best one

Good god, I remember spading the M60A2 a few years ago when I first started playing WT as an innocent novice WT player. It gave me my introduction to laser rangefinders and crippling depression thanks to how stupid Gaijin is at modeling HEAT and HE. But I did in fact acknowledge the pros and cons just like you did in this video! Good job! 💪

Video 119 of asking for T95. I love the M60A2, it and the AOS carried my US 8.0 grind. Missile nerfs were kinda tragic and its somewhat situational, but I think its still a fun niche vehicle for sure. Its hard to get the hand of the missiles but its not nearly as awful as TOWs are to use imho. Just aim a bit higher and compensate as the missile levels out (easier said than done but TOWs need to compensate 2 directions and the amount varies by range). Tbh their biggest issue is how ungodly slow they are

HE all the way. Also I found that any tank that has APHE killes Vader's reliably. And the T-34-85 is possible the best at doing it. IV been taking a full line up of T-34s to 8.0 and been doing really well with them constantly dropping 5 kills at least a game

The Shlegahs (Yes, I call them that XD) are actually my go to on the starship. You generally have to aim up so they don't slam into the ground on launch. then drop your aim onto target, like Sppokston was doing. They're surprisingly good.

the way me and my friends use it is HE main shell, HEAT backup in special cases and ATGM for helicopters, works really well most of the time

2:54 That's a smoke grenade being shot. They added that so if you MG one it basically only removes that specific smoke grenade. I have found that if you hit multiple at once it makes a smoke scren but that usually requires a shell with more explosive than kinetic power, or hitting a row which is much more difficult.

The M60A2 was my favourite vehicle to play in for a loooong ass time, specifically because of the HE + stab + rangefinder combo. It was, it is and it probably will be insanely good.

The M60A2 does appear in comic adaptation of Team Yankee when the us cavalry is on the run from the Soviet hammer. We see one throw a track the crew evacs and Promptly scuttles it rather than wait for a recovery vehicle. Also day 2 of asking to play the hawker typhoon IIB for anti cas/CAS
