For saltwater fishing I use an Alvey rod and reel 👍 In my opinion absolutely nothing can beat an Alvey side cast reel for saltwater ❗👍 My most expensive rod and reel combo... 👍 🐳 🎣

Nice! Great vid, I'm just waiting for the TSU Elf AJi 822 to arrive. Looking forward to trying out a tubular longer UL rod. I've got a 7'6 solid tip but its just not quite right for what I'm looking for. Really enjoy the channel

Hopefully this will inspire other CDMs to make light power rods with more backbone and in that 7' range. 7'6" is great from the boat or a yak but too long fishing from the bank with trees around.

Yea exactly, apart from the elf Ajing the next best thing I could find was the mavllos resolute which is only 6'9. I still like that rod, especially it's about 1/3 of the price of the Zero but definitely we need more competition in this sector. Once they go beyond 7ft the cast weights all seem to be 3 or 5g and up

Very nice review, sounds like a winner. On a rod like that, what size fish can you catch comfortably, beacuse as you know, saltwater fishing can be unpredictable. Great job as always and congrats once again on hitting 1K. Cheers!

Thanks Larry, should be able to handle a 50cm snapper, trevally or salmon. In that instance though the bottleneck would be this reel. It's such a finesse reel, it's only got 4kg of drag and 70m of line. Best fish so far was a 38cm punky that it handled easily.

Hehe I should try that just for fun. You know I have a feeling top water whiting might be a viable option here. I did see some splashing after the sun has set in the shallows at another spot

Nice video mate. The rod seems to be a winner as far as longer rods go. I don't use longer rods in my fishing but I might have a look at this one

Yea if you're mostly fishing the rivers then probably not much benefit. Alot of my fishing is covering water, or if from a pier say, trying to get along enough cast to hit a weed bed or a drop off etc. Sold a TD black and infeet combo recently and this has replaced it.

@yep.ultralight I have the Infeet Z. It's the closest to BFS in that range. It is a magical rod for BFS. I don't use it enough due to the rugged nature of the old werribee river

Yea I heard good things about it. Tbh I never saw myself spending $200 on a rod again untill the Zero. I used to be a huge Daiwa fanboy but I get put off by the elitism some people ooze on Facebook.

@yep.ultralight I've always been a shimano man but I must say that the infeet are a very good rod. I know what you mean about elitism, it can be really annoying. I have so much fun with my budget gear atm, and the quality seems to be improving rapidly

Great on the water review mate! Looks like a very versatile rod that can handle most situations. Ajing Elf is available in two lengths by the way, 7.5 and 8.2 feet. It sounds like this one from Purelure is just as good! 👍🏻🎣 /Kalle

I wonder how different the 7.5 and 8?2 are from eachother. 1.8-12 grams is an amazing casting range though, I really won't to try some heavy lures be side it's kind of hard to believe it can cast 12g without snapping.

@@yep.fishing not sure, but according to the specifications they say that the 8.2 footer is rated as 3-12g, so suspect that it is somewhat stiffer. 4 cm longer handle also apparently.

I'm scenarios where I would use that I would rather use my 9' L egi rod which is 1-10g although it's closer to 3-10 in my opinion

I think that a bit of a heavier reel like an Acura or Bearking Zeus would balance this rod out perfectly!

Great videos❗ from across the waters far from where I live in the USA... You take time and explain things...good content. BUT.... most of the rods I've seen on your channel are about half that expensive❓👍... I BOUGHT A FEW OFF OF ALIEXPRESS TEEMU AND A FEW OTHER SITES AND I'VE COME TO REALIZE RODS HALF THAT PRICE AND EVEN LESS ARE JUST AS GOOD 👍 99% of the time I fish open water.. I stopped using baitcasting reels and switched over to over and under spincast reels 👍 And again 95% of the time I am using vintage reels and rods add rods I have made. Keep up the great vids

Nice, the quality of purelure rods are a step above their cheaper counterparts. There are definitely alot of diamonds in the rough there but this is the only rod (perhaps in the world of including any brand) that has has these specs. A 7'6 fast action baitcasting rod that can cast a 1g lure

Elf Ajing has two lengths a 752 and an 822 I believe. I have the 752 so I’m curious how these compare. What would you say the action is like on the zero? I think the elf is like a F/MF but closer to F. Cheers Jacob!

This is definitely F. You can see when I pull the line only the tip section really bends. Pity I didn't get the Pinky I caught in the same night as that last clip on camera. That would have shown the bend profile pretty nicely.

@@yep.fishing hard to tell on camera but it looked like the tip loaded really well when you were casting. I think the distortion makes it look like it’s getting further down the blank than it might actually be though. The EA is def a F/MF tho. Cheers jacob!

Should be a pretty true representation. It's not shot in superview. Then again maybe this angle is still wider and a little distorted compared to normal.

Nice, I believe that spin rod was a fair bit cheaper than some of the other rods. I saw the I think 2 and 5 piece spins were about 25% cheaper then the rest of the mofeld

Nice. Will be super versatile to throw different weights and also great sensitivity. Daiwa or Shimano doesn't have a better rod at that price.

We need to COMMIT to BFS!! Also with faster action you should get better hooksets on single hooks. As someone told in the comments, the Acura Pro as stainless steel guides and is a bit heavier, should help with the balance and save your silver feather. Also is the saltwater messing with the braid?

Sembo would look nice but won't fix the balance issue. A shiny black reel would be good but I like to try and keep rod and reel the same brand. Just a little OCD thing. Haven't noticed anything with the braid, fished maybe 70/30 salt to fresh. The braid is maybe 3 or 4 months old.

Bite itself on the spool? You're probably using too thin of braid. Try something .10 or .12mm or 0.6-0.8 gou. This braid is .08 Gou which is 12lb.

Great length hard to find the 7ft bfs rod. I'm fishing 6ft8 to 6ft10 but I have a daiwa emeraldas squid rod 7ft4 that casts that's sweet spot.

@yep.ultralight The 21 66l bf blazon is an amazing rod. The other day I scored my grail rod a Daiwa Silverwolf Mursame 6101 AGS.Its taken me 5 years to find all I need now is the reel.

Interesting rod. Personally I don’t understand why rods come with 2ft of handle, especially finesse rods - that’s why I go custom made Just had my latest custom build arrive. No expense spared, built on a Northfork composites MB661-1 IM blank, short stubby cork grip, titanium Torzite guides. Rod specs are 6’6”, 2-6lb, lure weight 1/32oz - 3/16oz, will be paired with my 22 Aldebaran BFS

2ft of handle? Nah it's not 2ft long, that just an illusion with that camera angle where it's laying on the rocks.. From the butt end to about the reel seat knob it's 36.5cm which is less than 15 inches.

I think the quality is very good, customer service is average compared to some others. Tsurinoya is very responsive in chat, also mavllos.

I disagree, can't find a better rod for cheaper than this in my opinion. I don't regret buying this rod at all
