@RicardoReview17 сағат бұрын
Without holding the rod, I would bet a higher carbon count, looks a bit more flexible around the tip for 24t
@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL17 сағат бұрын
@@RicardoReview or a solid tip which would allow for the flexibility? Just checked the product description and it does look like they utilize a solid tip section.
@RicardoReview15 сағат бұрын
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL I know is a solid tip, that's why i think maybe it as a bit more carbon, all my Mifine rods have similar construction and most are solid tip rods, the 24 against the 40 usually will have a different spring rate and will make use of larger diameter tips, it's a hard concept for me to explain even in Portuguese, 24t usually looks more round with a "tighter" with a bit more rough texture on the fabric, this one looks a lot like my 30T solid tip rod.
@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL15 сағат бұрын
@@RicardoReview hm I don’t really know that there is a standard difference in the appearance of the weave/pattern as there are different brands that manufacture the cloth? What I know about tonnage is that the higher the tonnage the stiffer the blank and the lower the amount of material is needed to achieve that stiffness. This is why higher tonnage/more expensive rods tend to be more fragile due to less material being used but also because the material is more stiff. Anywho, the rod could very well be 30ton or a blend of 24+30ton.

You would get a 10/10 if you had or mentioned a daiwa salamandura on this rod. You still get a 9/10 though a very nice match. Love to see how this fishes, its more in the category i use and 7'6" is sweet. I have been loading rods with a 500g weight and feeling their action and bend. You would have to judge what each rod can handle as some of my 15lb max rods can bearly lift 500g. You would think a rod rated to 15lb or 7.5kg could dead lift 500g easily but it's surprising.

@5wisher5weet i have a sunboen shore jigging rod says 5-15g but i have casted 3/4oz (21g) jig head and squid jigs 3.0 no issues. I actually don't like using it for squid the action is too fast makes it hard to keep pressure with the rod flex. I feel the rod is heavier than advertised but does have a 1.3mm tip which is very thin. The fast action really throws me off on judging it's category.

What strength line did u use?

normally I pick line based on diameter and not the breaking strength. For beach fishing I would use 10 or 12lb braid. For bream, trout, redfin and smaller species typically 6lb with a 4lb leader.

@MrFowl7 күн бұрын
@@yep.fishing another easy mod is slightly (slightly!) bending the spring that makes the drag detents. That will make it much easier to feel when the drag engages which is super useful if you're using 2-3lb line. It took me a few tries (bending it looser, woops too loose, tighter...etc.) before I got it right.

Great video bro. Nice intro! 3-6g is pretty heavy for UL casting on spinning in my opinion. I mean, I can cast 1/16 pretty well on my tt rods red belly. But anything over 4.5g it casts almost the same. The rod tip bends a lot over 4.5 grams. I enjoy my Light 2-4kg 13 fishing rod at patto with 1/10-1/2oz for salt water. Daiwa exceler of course haha. Just about every aliexpress premium style spinning reel is copying the drag off the new Daiwa range. I mean for $80 it’s nearly half of what I paid for my exceler!! I’m keen on a sturdy all round travel rod for when I go Japan and Philippines soon. Any recommendations?
Yea it feels more like an L than an untralight to me. Probably because it's more for the American market which is more bass focussed. Also the faster action makes it seem heavier naturally. As for a travel rod, funny you should mention it, depends on how light and budget but check out the Purelure Cedan, there is a 5 piece model that's 6'1 5 piece.

@Dane_fisher4368 күн бұрын
@@yep.fishingI have no idea just every 40 ish cast the knot weakens and my lures goes flying off into the horizon and i lose the leader and the lure on the end of it 😂. I have never had this problem with the double uni knot and i have been using it for a couple years already up until i bought this new ultra thin line.
@Dane_fisher4368 күн бұрын
Ooh actually i think it might be the micro guide train on my new rod slowly chipping away at my knot, but i still don’t know why the fg knot has failed, i probably didn’t tie it with enough tension and it must have slipped.

my guess is that the new line is the actual breaking strain it says whereas whatever you used in the past breaks much higher. how heavy are the lures you are throwing?
@yep.fishing7 күн бұрын
ive never had it happen before, I suspect its the breaking strain. How many turns on your double uni are you doing? I usually do 5 and 5, on thicker leader like 10lb id do 5 and 7 with the braid.
