If the ships stats were saved between sessions then the logbook wouldn't be so valueless. I feel like they could make it the "emissary" for the sovereign by allowing you to park by the sovereign and have the entire crew vote for them to take the book for "safekeeping" when you log off.

I don't mind the low price of the log book, I personally just enjoy reading what the ship I just sunk has been up to.

It's based on days since last sink. If they've been afloat for 1-2 in game weeks, then it goes up to 2500 and it caps at 20+ days for 25,000

I actually got my logbook to remarkable. I was doing an Athena grind with a good friend of mine. we graciously allowed a solo sloop on the server to sell our logbook.

I'm pretty sure logbooks are worth much more if the ship that you took it from has better stats in the logbook, e.g higher amount of ships sunk, or amount of treasure sold that game. this logbook that you sold was probably not worth much because the player hadn't done much that game.

There are different tiers of log books the more the ship has a achieved the better the log book

I couldn't help but notice you didn't even once mention that the logbook value rises per x days the ship has been unsunken in a row, going up to a hefty price after 20 (i assume) in-game days of not getting sunk. This was all in the captaincy notes on their official website. Just gotta find an actually valiant crew that hasn't sunk the same day and you have yourself a payday, like you reported in the pinned comment.

The logbook should keep increasing in value until the ship is sunk. Kind of like emissary flags but you can keep it across sessions since its saved to your ship. Ya made 400k before being sunk? your logbook is now worth 4k! Something along those lines anyway.

I recently sold a logbook with 3.3m made, 100 days played and 3600+ cannonballs fired. It sold for 760 gold I think. I log into servers and instead of empty cannonball crates I see these stupid books floating next to the docks. There was an attempt. I am just doing PvP and passively grinding the games new update. Edit: A capture like mine should have sold for 300k. All that they had to do was add a 10% incentive on gold earned. Big brain plays. I know it’s free so if you monetize it all yours. 10% of gold earned for all log books. WOW. This would also bring back PvP as the reapers are screwed with runners. Incentivize PvP money is useless in this stupid game. I’m gonna sink your ass.

Running merchant emissary and doin cargo runs and you guys immediately engage in combat upon sight. tragic just absolute tragic... u gained nothing from this and the guy who was attacked probably didnt open sot for a couple days after that one..
