This is good to see. I watched this telecast at 11 y/o, and to this day it was the ONLY telecast I'd EVER seen without an open frame. (Or at least this is as close to it as I'd seen). Bo kept on saying over and over again about Bob getting a good break he probably didn't need. Well he clearly DID need it in order to beat Parker by a pin!!!!! I could tell Parker witnessed what happened. Yes, Parker is totally awesome and similarly at the 99 Columbia 300 open (which Parker won), at the end of his game against Jason Couch, it seemed Jason felt pressured about something, but Parker was saying "take your time" in a very sportsman-like and buddy-like way, and I have every reason in the world to believe he was sincere. Moreover, just before Bob shot his 300 that day, as Johnny Petraglia completed his game, the crowd really WOWed him, but he subtly was wanting them to settle down so Bob could concentrate on his 10th frame, as alluded to by Chris Schenkel. Parker and Johnny are 2 really awesome NJ bowlers and I've been BLESSED to have the opportunity to meet them both before. We need more bowlers like them, and I will never forget Bob Learn Jr!!!

Parker has always been pure class. I still wish Bob would have just gotten the 10 the first time. Greatest PBA show of all time.

This is why I've always admired Parker. More so than for that incredible shot of his, for the fact that this sort of response is normal for him - even if the rules didn't already stipulate it. Epitomises why he won the Steve Nagy Sportsmanship Award so many times (was it 5? I can't remember off the top of my head).

Was watching with my dad, we couldn't believe it, Bob had 44 strikes, I think, must still be the TV record, I hope. The 4 opponents Bob beat also broke the old record. It was a crazy day

I want to bowl with these two great guys. I would get whipped but it wouldn’t matter. They exemplify true sportsmanship and friendship.

Not really possible to tell. His head shifted to the right as the ball was half way down the lane. I think the rule was that the interference has to be from in front of the foul line, or something to that nature, and it was. More likely than not, he was interfered with.

@@Polarcupcheck how bout pedersen against duke.. When some guy yelled in his release... And he got bad shot.. Should he get a do over shot

@@DaveBais Historically, I don't remember anyone getting a do-over from noises, and that one was behind him and up in the stands. I think it should be possible. Because you can get startled by noises. I am not sure that affected the match, because Pedersen still hit the pocket. Hard to say.
