I think the count is exaggerated a bit; some of the people that were hit with the car could have just been injured rather than outright killed, since Rick wasn't driving very fast.

To be honest, The Mummy Returns was great too. I agree it’s not as good as the first Mummy film but it’s still a great pure fun adventure. I enjoyed the first two Mummy films more than the third Mummy film, Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and they’re way better than the disappointing reboot starring Tom Cruise.

Mummy Returns was great save for CG Rock. It’s just Mummy and Mummy Returns to me.
