You know I liked the Tom Cruise mummy. Inspite of Tom Cruise. The storyline followed the original mummy comics. To a degree. It was a campy and a fun watch. Inspite of lol. 😂😂

@@danielleburchette2599 but it did not follow the original black and white movie from the 1920s 30s nor did they copy brenden frashers mummy. Both were a fun romp. I am such a big fan of the old black and whites that they should would have at least come close to it or expand the original story. I am sorry but the Tom cruise movie was Meh to me.... The original black and white movie was more about a love story than an action film and it was wonderful. But that is me.

@PapaEnoch052 I've seen the black and white original. I saw it in a drive-in. I was around 10. Lol. It was one of my first scary movie experiences. Along with The Grizzly. Saturday night, double features, you know? Oh my gosh, that was so long ago. You're right, though. The old black and whites held more suspense, and the plots were simpler, but better imo. I didn't think about the original. But to be truthful, I'm a fan of the Brendan Frasier films. He played the perfect hero. Each deserves some credit for different reasons, but I agree. The first was the best.

Actually, Imhotep was an Ancient Egyptian who was an architect and designed the tomb pyramids for the Egyptian Pharaohs. Egyptian afterlife, short explanation; their belief was the "Ka", "Ba", and the body. "Ma'at is the one who sets the ways/rules for the Egyptians to live during life. When the soul of the person entered Duat he/she would have to go through the 12 gates and answer to the 72 deities who would ask questions and if answered correctly would move on to the next gate. The final gate was the weighing of his or her heart. If his/her heart was light as a feather, he or she would enter Osiris Carriage and travel through the sky. If the persons heart was not lighter than Ma'ats feather, then the persons heart would be eaten by a diety and suffer in the Netherworld. There is much more to what I have written. It is an ancient religious belief of Ancient Egyptians.

Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weisz in a new Mummy installment would be electric I think. Take the mummy in a different , less humorous direction than the Fraser movies went. That'd be a great movie. Could see those two as a pair. Maybe have a resentful, renegade son who believes his Dad (Fraser ) is alive out there somewhere after disappearing mysteriously , (leaving the door open for him to return in a future installment) causing tension between Reeves and he and Weisz. I can totally see it! 👍
