The lengths officers have gone to in gathering evidence to obtain justice for Katie and her loved ones.
Most importantly to show the public the wonderful person Katie Kenyon was.

The family has asked that their privacy continues to be respected
“if someone you know family or friend

The Banaz Mahmoud case is extremely heartbreaking. Violence against women still a prolific issue, and it only takes an unhinged twat to come across a woman who they feel is a major inconvenience to them and that woman is subsequently in danger, the police need to crack down and do more. He’s even got the Chris Watts pose downpat 1:34 I’m so, so sorry to Katie’s loved ones and especially her parents and children. This is a horror beyond all comprehension. The plague of domestic violence is so insidious. Recently I had my best mates 30th. He watched his Dad murder his Mom when he was 5 years old. There was such a sense of loss & absence, as his siblings and many friends made speeches…and maternal and paternal figures in his life travelled many hours to attend his birthday, people who have played such an important role in his life. But there was no taking away from the fact that he had no Mom or Dad there to say _happy birthday_ or _I’m so proud of you_ . The legacy of domestic and family violence spans across generations. My ongoing love and thoughts go to Katie’s parents, siblings, family, and of course her wee children.

A truly tragic case, but I would wholeheartedly encourage more of these types of raw, unfiltered documentaries from the police force. He left with Katie, and less than an hour later, returned without Katie. He really expects anyone to believe that he "accidently" killed her, dug a grave, buried Katie and returned home in that short window of time? Not possible. Like the detective said to him... He wouldn't have had time to do all that. He was out there prior to taking Katie there, and he dug that hole, knowing he was going to take Katie back there, kill her and dispose of her body in that hole.

@@NebulaBull that’s the point she’s making. There’s no way he could have accidentally killed her, dug a hole, and bury her body in less than an hour. Why do scum like this guy think it's ok to kill someone because they can, She was a mum to young children, a daughter a sister and friend to people who loved her deeply, I swear there's something missing in their heads, It's literally the devil's work, life really isn't fair, my condolences to the family I'm so sorry for your loss

This has been handled so well by Lancs Police 👍 To challenge a murderer with confidence and a direct well articulated manner , which has led this guy to end up where he belongs is fantastic. Great job lancs police and the interviewers have smashed it in my opinion. God forbid if I ever get into a situation where I’m a victim and if so I would want the interviewers on my side !!! Amazing 👏👏👏👏👏

Well done Lancashire Police both in preparing the case and releasing this video. We need better education, starting at secondary school, to better prepare people to deal with the unfortunately many Burfields out there, total losers who cause so much pain and heartache.

So very well done by the police and forensics on this case. Great work and thankfully the police and others involved and Katie's family and loved ones were not let down by the judge for a change, and Katies killer received a more suitable sentence than most killers get in the UK. RIP Katie.

Amazing policework here allowing the public to gain a good understanding of the work that goes into gaining a much needed conviction in court. The interviewing process playing quite a vital role role for positive a outcome. Omg he drove her to her own grave. Tell me he got a full life tariff. Lancashire Police you have my deepest respect. Thank you for telling Katie’s story. As a survivor I know how hard it is and my heart breaks for Katie what a beautiful woman she was and she met a monster. What was his motive? Greed what? I could see the toll this case had on especially your female staff who I have no doubt would have helped and do help women and men in these terrible circumstances. You should be so proud you spoke for her. 💜
