I only discovered "Francis Forever" (and Mitski for that matter) thanks to this episode. I really love Marceline's cover, and it will always be the first version of the song I ever heard. I wish we got a full and uninterrupted version, with all of the instrumentation and everything else. Sometimes I listen to the orignal on repeat for a while.

My interpretation about how Marcy knew that song is probably because Death told her about it short notice since even Marcy can’t just write a song within a day, and Death would clearly know the artist since he probably reaped her already

I did the bandwagon thing and decided to watch all of Adventure Time before I watched Fiona and Cake. When I got to this episode, I was like "this is my favorite episode." Then I finished the series and was like "that was still my favorite episode." Then I watch Distant lands and was like "that was still my favorite episode." THEN I watch Fiona and Cake and was like "that was still my favorite episode." So I rewatched it and was like "this is still my favorite episode." I can't tell you why, but thanks for talking about it. Fin Sword dancing at the end kills me though, he's so silly

I think adventure time had some great songs in it even though they were spread out it made them feel a lot nicer then just putting them in every episode

Amazing video! i personally do HC that marcy wrote the song but if mitskis discography did exist they would all be so lucky to hear it also this ep has one of my favorite quotes “i’ve always wanted to be heard by everyone. that’s what friends are, right, just people to observe you” changed my brain chemistry forever

When the finale aired, had missed a few episodes in season 7-8 and didn't watch any from 9-10. That being said, I did watch the last episode and was very confused. I still cried at this show ending but the giant singing hole definitely took me out 😂.

I think that while they are things that are irreparable, that does mean things are bad all the time. Music, for many, is a way to cope with some of the stuff going on in life and just escape into our mind with a sense of calmness. Music speaks volumes and it can also help us greatly, but songs eventually end and we wake up and continue to move forward. For while music can help, we have to work on how we going to handle our own lives and whatever may come along with it.
