Hey everyone! Sing Reaction is today's video!
Join me as I watch Sing for the first time today and dance and sing along with it!
Johnny and Gunter were the ones that stood out the most for me in this amazing singing competition while Johnny has to figure out his personal life with dealing with his bank robber dad!
In a world of anthropomorphic animals, koala Buster Moon owns a theater, having been interested in show business since his father took him to his first music show as a child. Following financial problems brought up by the bank representative Judith, he tells his wealthy friend Eddie that he will host a singing competition with a prize of $1,000. But Buster's assistant, Miss Crawly, accidentally appends two extra zeroes, and the promotional fliers showing $100,000 are blown out of Buster's office into the city streets.

That DOES make sense. In an interview, the actual Elton John said that no one else could be able to see his songs like Taron. If you can get his approval on it, then you know he's awesome.

It's a fun fact, but Taron Egerton wasn't supposed to have the role as Elton John in Rocketman, it was another actor, that according to Elton "Couldn't sing", Elton and Taron first got to know each other on set for Kingsman: The Golden Circle, made a friendship and taron did this movie, where he sings Elton's song. It was the final nail in the coffin basically that landed him the role in Rocketman ^^

Everybody complains that the animals could just be humans without changing anything, but I think that’s the point. It allows them to get away with some more “mature” topics (gang life, gambling, etc.) and still appeal to kids. Plus, it’s adorable

People had mixed reactions when this came out, but I felt like one of the few who actually really liked this movie! I loved the characters and felt the actors really gave their all to perform their respective songs.

I never understood why people didn't like this movie, maybe it was because of the singing but I've heard nothing but dislike for this movie. That didn't stop me from enjoying it

I think it was because it came out the same year as Zootopia. So since both were about anthropomorphic animals, people of course debated between them. But I agree that I still found enjoyment in it as well. It's a very nice movie and fun songs.

@@singingwolf8997 Well, personally, Sing to me feels like it had a lot less effort put into it. Its world feels bland and simple, some of the jokes and humor feel like low-hanging fruit and not really utilizing the size differences of the animals save for one little moment here or there. Sure, a musical can be nice, but it's also super easy to just pick a song and throw it into a movie to make people feel something. I'll take an actual musical over a jukebox one. At best, I find it an ok watch but nothing I'm going to run out to see again. At worst, it comes across as lazy.

@@chaddieladdie6312 Those are all fair points, I'll admit that. But plenty of people do like or prefer jukebox musicals, simpler jokes, and not-so-complicated setups and environments, too. So it's perfectly fine if people want to prefer Zootopia over Sing. But preferring one doesn't necessarily mean the other is terrible, and that was my original point.

I had my reservations about seeing this film when it was announced. I didn’t expect it to be an impactful and inspirational story but when I sat down and watched it when it was released on home media, my opinion did a 180; it was very good! I’m actually curious to see how Sing 2 will hold up compared to its predecessor.

The way my opinion changed when I first saw this movie in theaters. I was apart of that crowd of people that hated the movie for no reason. When I went to watch it with family I switched up immediately. I felt like a kid in awe watching it for the first time. I enjoyed it way more than I expected to, and now I’m anxious if the sequel will do it justice.

I'm never been into musicals or shows like The Voice,but this movie was great,and I should've expected it,I love animals,I love animated movies,I love talking animals and I love listening to songs,and not only there were ones that I already knew and loved or even that came from my childhood,but the movie made know a lot other ones that I never heard before,especially "I'm still standing",that song is absolutely amazing,so I thoroughly understand your love for it

Decent? They were animals for no reason. It’s basically just X-factor but animals just to attract people into watching it. Zootopia came out in the same year but unlike Sing, their crew knew what they were doing. The animals displayed animal traits and actually has a moral of the story. Whereas in Sing….

You freaking out over I'm still standing is such a mood. I do absolutely love that song too. Plus I'm a huge Taron Egerton fan and Rocketman is probably my favourite movie. I'm especially excited for Sing 2, because I so need more content of Taron Egerton singing. Also: another really good (non animated) movie with Taron Egerton is Eddie the Eagle. It has Hugh Jackman too and it's such a great comfort movie.

I saw part 2 a couple weeks ago. They really stepped it up. The way Frozen 2 and Shrek 2 topped their successors, i think Sing 2 does the same. Definitely should check it out when it releases.

Sing is one of my favourite animated movies ever!! 😭😍 I recall watching the teaser for the first time and got interested. Slowly waited for months and saw it in the theatres with my family and a great crowd, it was a great experience and can’t wait for the sequel this December!! Buster, Meena (is voiced by Tori Kelly, she’s a sweetheart irl and has the voice of an angel. A very underrated artist), Johnny (I’m one of the biggest Taron Egerton fans out there, I wouldn’t have checked out Kingsman or Rocketman before discovering him) and Ash (Scarlett Johansson voiced her, a.k.a. Black Widow) are my favorite characters. ✨🎶 also glad that we’re on the same page in hating Mike, he is the worst!! (Thankfully he won’t be in the sequel so you won’t have to worry about him ruining anything XD 😂)

I watched this in theaters. Never planned on it but I had a friend visiting and my bro and I had just moved here, and it was a rainy day. We decided to go to a movie and this was the only one playing. All three of us adults enjoyed this so much. I don't remember it being promoted very much at the time, and that's a shame.

Am I the only one thinking that everybody (except maybe Mike) would've stayed in the show even if they were told right off the bat that the prize was only $1000? I mean, it was an honest mistake, and most of them joined just to show they had the skill and moxie to do it. Mike was the only one who signed up just for the cash. We could've skipped the whole 'liar revealed' plot.

Loved your reaction, I especially loved how you connected personally to “I’m Still Standing”. I can’t wait until you react to the 2nd one when it becomes available, IMO it’s even better than the first. And agreed with Meenah at 18:42 Just subbed as well!
