The Must Have Upgrades for any E9x M3 - Eventuri Carbon Intake System + Evolve Stage 2

Just like buses two E9x M3's have joined the Evolve/Eventuri Team at the same time. Along with our own Japan Red E92 M3 an Eventuri Member has picked up a Carbon Black E90 M3, and we couldn't leave him driving it around stock could we!
So we fitted what we think are the must have upgrades for any E9x M3 - The Full Eventuri Intake System consisting of Carbon Fibre Plenum, Intake Elbow, Airbox Lid and Scoop. Pairing with this we do our tried and tested Stage 2 Package of Primary Cat Delete Pipes and a ECU tune, along with flashing the GTS DCT Software.
Bring these upgrades together and to us this is how the car should feel and sound. Awakening the S65 from the lazy state it leaves BMW in.

Loving the E9X content lately, please keep them coming. Would be good to get some footage of the car driving with an external microphone mounted under the bonnet near the plenum. The carbon intake, plenum and lid are still the best mods I’ve done to my M3, and I’ve done loads. 👏🏻

this is why i do all my work myself. You shouldve cleaned the old airbox before installing it again. also cleaning beneath the plenum. Anyways sick mod

e9x m3's are going up in price. Well done. Here in the States, 2015-17 f8x M cars are almost the same price as e9x m3's under 60k miles. Higher mile e9x m3's still also going up. Keeping mine forever.

Would be nice to post the Power before the Cat deletes and then the after figures. I am looking at the SW updates from you and perhaps the Cat Deletes but with standard back box or perhaps the M Sport back box. What are your thoughts ?

We work on whatever comes in! Typically we don’t see many of them, most likely due to the target market of the car. Technician Hash has an F31 320D and we will be doing a full video on installing the MSS suspension to his car soon! We are also considering a touring project of our own, possibly a 340i with the B58...

Warm the badges to soften the adhesive and use a soft trim tool to remove, can swap them over with some new adhesive on the back.

Why is your intake top cover being sucked down while revving the car? Not strong enough? Restrictive filter?

Neither, where it is at a standstill the airbox isn’t being filled with air meaning it has to suck it through from the bumper. When the car is moving the large airbox is saturated with fresh cold air thanks to the scoop. Extensive testing was done on this and the small amount of flex is not an issue, it is a by product of harmonically tuning the plenum for maximum aural enhancement.

There are only 9 DCT's on autotrader atm, the e90 is quite a rare care really and are normally a bit more money than the e92/93 because of this, if u are after a certain colour and spec you could be waiting a long time...

Depends if you like the smell? It’s not something I even notice, and being used to 2 stroke motorbikes and racing love the smell of burnt fuel. Others are very sensitive to the smell and do not like it. It’s an objective thing.

When the engine is cold you can smell it😉 But when the engine is well warmed up and you drive every two years to the TÜV, you can pass the emissions test here in Germany without problems👍🏻 When the software is correct done an the yellow engine light (no more precats) is codes out😎

The standard design is so good that it has always been our opinion that the potential gains vs price of the parts and installation would make it not worth doing. Unlike on the S62 in the E39 M5 which had a very compromised header design, one that we fixed with our own headers.

@@TopiAS06 The only aftermarket company that I can think of making headers for the E9x M3 is 'Ericsson' from Japan. They're a sister company to S2000 tuner 'Powerhouse Amuse' and they made titanium ones that weigh 1kg less PER cylinder bank. But because its a titanium exhaust and because its a high quality product from Japan, I can't imagine it would be affordable
