That Mustang looks really nice, the wheels add a nice touch as well. Seeing Wendy with the towel and driving it, she had patience and now can enjoy it. Thanks to both of you! 👍💪✌

As you say fitzy.Look at the job on hand a bit at a time. Then look at the resaults.Yeh really cool.

That’s the shizzle right there. All of this deep fabrication & all the work that we do is important, but stuff like this, the end product, the finished product, the driving product, the product that blesses the people we love. That’s the end result. That’s the goal. That’s why we do what we do. Well, done, my friend. Truly beautiful result from a lot of blood, sweat, and tears RAWK!!!

The last 10% of a restoration is the hardest. They say it's the same thing when you build a house.
@byronperry601410 күн бұрын
That's because in both a car and house, the last 10% is what everyone sees, and you have tovpay attention to all the details, which everyone will see and notice all the small imperfections.

Whatever it is, from bathroom remodels to vehicle restoration, that final punch list can be a real doozy!!! The Mustang came out great, well done Fitzy! You did good by taking the time away from us to git 'er done!

Finished is such a tricky word. You believe it means one thing but you know it jumps just out of reach by only one more thing just as you think you’ve reached it. More great work there Fitzee!!!

I’m about 100 hours into my 72 Monte Carlo and nearing the end but I had to walk away Sunday evening. I put two 10 hour days in this weekend and everything took longer than I expected and it was getting to me 🤣 sometimes you just gotta walk away for a week. Glad to see one of us finish something! 👍

Wendy's car looks great! Those wheels really set it off. Gotta chuckle about all the 5 minute jobs ruining a day. If it gets to a master like you,you can imagine what it's like for the rest of us! I'm a restoration carpenter and I know the feeling😊

Nice. Sounds great. A fella here in PEI did up a 66 for his wife. She drove it a lot. Was sorta greenish colour with a whit top. Convertible. No idea what engine was in it. Fella passed away. And have not seen the car in a few years. You did a great job on her car. On to the next one. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋

Looks great Fitzie, glad you took some timo to do some of the great work you do for yourself. Now get busy with a new “ cut and butt” lol. Thanks for your vids the are the best on the internet. You are walking me through complex body panels, that you cant buy. With you who needs to buy crappy panels, when you can make them yourself { time consuming} but it is do-able. Thank you and congrats on the finishing of the Mustang.

Seeing Wendy's Mustang reminded me of my Teal 1967 Mercury Cougar / 4BB 289 4speed. I certainly loved that car and we came across it when I moved to California looking for a Mustang. I actually bought it from a Canadian Helicopter pilot who was stationed here!

Years ago, I helped a buddy move a steering rack to fit a V-8 into an MGA and a few months later, we discovered that on hard turns we were beyond the limits of the inside tie-rod joint, which wore out. Had to do some fancy footwork to get things squared away so that didn't happen again. As I recall, we found a shorter front pulley for the crankshaft that got us another inch. Of course, that also meant finding the matching water pump pulley and moving the alternator.

I had a '66 factory high performance Mustang. Disk brakes, 650 double pumper FoMoCo carb, close ratio 4 speed, 4:11 posi, and what was called a 3/4 race cam with solid lifters. Rolled it at about 100mph. Miss that car. You did a nice job on that one. As she pulled away, I was expecting her to burn rubber!!! lolol

My friend - how many projects do you see advertised where someone has it listed as saying "just needs final assembly and finishing"? If it's anything like what I see over here in New Zealand, it will be quite a few. I reckon the hardest yards with any project are done AFTER all the welding, grinding and painting are done. Getting the car back together and moving under its own power is one thing, but taking it to the point where there's nothing left to do that NEEDS doing is another. Sure - there will always be little improvements one might want to make over time aesthetically or whatever, but getting it done, driving, safe and as a sound vehicle again is definitely worth celebrating. My hat is off to you, Tony. The car looks fantastic and Wendy looks very happy with it. Well done, mate!

Congratulations 🎉 The final details are incredibly difficult to finish. Even with all your help I struggle with the body work. I'm a mechanic first and enjoy the details, as frustrating as they can be. I was torn on my 64 F100 between swapping the solid front axle for the crown Vic. All said and done the old solid axle drives perfect and I installed a disc brake conversion. Now the bad news!😢 It steers like a truck! I know, it is a truck but with the radial tires on her the extra rubber contact on the pavement doesn't help. Really glad you got it done! ( Although we know they're never really done) Thanks and welcome back!
