The Mysterious Disappearance of Jean Spangler Episode- 2
👉👉 • The Mysterious Disappe...
Jean Spangler's disappearance is a fascinating yet tragic case that occurred in Hollywood in 1949. Here's a brief overview of the case, which has intrigued many over the years:
Jean Spangler was a young actress and model who disappeared on October 7, 1949, under mysterious circumstances. She was last seen leaving her home in Los Angeles, telling her sister-in-law that she was going to meet her ex-husband to discuss child support payments and then going to work on a film set. However, she never arrived at the film set, and she was never seen again.
One of the most notable clues in the case was a note found in Spangler's purse, which was discovered in Griffith Park several days after her disappearance. The note was addressed to "Kirk" and read: "Can't wait any longer, Going to see Dr. Scott. It will work best this way while mother is away." The note raised numerous questions and theories about who "Kirk" and "Dr. Scott" were and what Spangler meant by her message.
The case received significant media attention at the time, with speculation swirling about Spangler's personal life and relationships. Some suspected foul play, while others believed she may have staged her disappearance to start a new life elsewhere.
Despite extensive investigations by law enforcement and private detectives, Jean Spangler's fate remains unknown, and her disappearance remains one of Hollywood's enduring mysteries.

I like that your showing things that I’ve never seen before. All I’ve ever heard about Jean Spangler was her life right before she died and her disappearance. It must have taken some time to dig up all this information. Your honoring her memory by showing that she’s wasn’t a tragic figure. She was a human being that walked this earth and she lived and loved. She deserves to be honored and remembered.

I first heard of Jean Spangler's disappearance in 1958, when I was ten, on a summer day camp trip to Fern Dell with a church group of kids. Other kids told me that "a girl" disappeared there and only her purse was found. I forgot about this until as an adult, I heard about this story in connection with some less savory details about Kirk Douglas' life. A rumor that wouldn't die circulated for years that he had something to do with Spangler's vanishing.

Justin I missed you! Kirk Douglas was her murderer, or a hired man a ‘fixer’ took care of Jean.Kirk Douglas also brutally r’d a 15 yr old Natalie Wood in 1953. Horrible man, I’m feeling she was dumped in the L.A. River not too far from Griffith Park. Teeth, I keep seeing teeth. I am a psychic.

I believe everything I've read about Kirk Douglas. He seemed like an awful man. I didn't love him when I met him either. I think he's definitely responsible for her disappearance but I'm not sure exactly how. The Fixer seems like the answer.

Kirk Douglas seems like he was an arrogant and not nice character. It could be he had something to do with her murder. The husband angle seems possible, too. But Douglas was an up and coming star and the studio system would protect him from bad publicity. I hope you do more of the Hollywood mysteries. The details you have and the locations are far and above anything I've seen before. I am a true crime junkie and I have lots of biographies on Hollywood. You really bring these stories to life!

I just wrote the last rave review of your incredible documentary on Jean Spangler (I called you talented) and I wanted to add that I believe her husband is a probable culprit. Any lawyer can tell you the most dangerous and violent acts take place as a result of family court issues and Jean was embroiled in a doozy of a fight for custody. Also, you self-criticize about veering off the beaten trail during your observations, but I think they’re 1) relevant and 2) tremendously interesting! No complaints here. Thanks, Margot West; Scottsdale, AZ.

I think she was def seeing Kirk Douglas, and it was casual and she was having fun, but I’ve always thought her ex did it. With the custody battle, her pregnancy, and his new wife, she was getting in the way of everything. He was late with child support payments, and I think they were rumored to be still seeing each other despite his new marriage. I think he was abusive and manipulative, and he killed her.
