Gretchen , I respectfully disagree ... Very doubtful Royston cave was ever used as a Templar initiation chamber ... The symbols of the 'Heart on the hand', the Dove, the effigies of 'Saint Catherine and the wheel', Saint Christopher with his walking stick carrying the child on his shoulder, Saint George with his horse and sword, are Venerated Saints of the "14 Holy Helpers"... The effigy of Saint Laurence holding up the gridiron ... The bell shape of Royston Cave is in the shape of an Ancient Middle Eastern Tent , The symbol of the most high degree "Encampment"... and the skull (used in the Odd Fellow's initiation ritual) are symbols synonymous with "The Order of Odd Fellows".....

Thank you for your comment. Being in public, one has to be prepared for 'respectfully disagree' moments. My book does explain why the Templars were in Royston and owned the property/kiosk above the cave itself. They owned various properties around Royston. I won't go into all the details here as this is not the appropriate place for such a detailed debate. Yes, all of these saints have their story that slots into the umbrella of Christianity. However, I have found other carvings in the cave to slant my research towards the Templars. The Odd Fellows are several hundred years after the fact. The Freemasons, Rosicrucians, and other fraternities can trace their roots back 700 years. The Templars flowed into the Merchant Guilds. They were trading with them and were merchants themselves. Both used military hierarchies, including the term 'Grand Master'. We filmed in the cave for easily 3 hours. Not everything I shared with the team was used during the season 10 opener of The Curse of Oak Island.

@@GretchenCornwallHi Gretchen , There is no evidence of Templar involvement in Royston cave, not one Templar symbol among the carvings in the cave , The symbols of Royston cave are symbols directly connected to The 'Order of Odd Fellows' , historians trace the Order of Odd Fellows roots back to the Medieval Trade Guilds of the 12th and 13th Centuries. Others estimated that it existed before 1650 ... If there is evidence of Templar involvement, now would be the time to present it ....

Historians have traced the group back to the Medieval Trade Guilds of the 12th and 13th Centuries. Others estimated that it existed before 1650 ... There is No connection to the Knights Templars or the Freemasons , the symbology connects directly to an early group of Oddfellows , the Effigies of members of the 14 Holy helpers , venerated Saints invoked to ward off disease and the Plague , the artifacts of human bones & a skull , found in Royston cave are synonymous to one group , "The Order of Oddfellows" Most likely as an Intercession prayer chamber to ward off the plague ....

Hmmm... The Templars were not guns for hire, they were the standing army of the church... They answered to the Pope... But they were comparable to the finest military units which are bound to the rule of law set out by governments. Black Water is a private security company, it does not represent the US government in the field.

Remember last year Garry used his metal detector at the bottom of the shaft and detected gold/silver and was jumping up and down claiming treasure. Fast forward to now and there 4ft/meters down and no mention of it. Proof the show is set up

@@nickma71 so where are they? They have already gone down below that depth where’s the non iron based metal that they were all jumping up and down screaming treasure? Just evaporated. That scene was put in at the end just to keep viewers interested in the following season. It was faked for entertainment purposes. Otherwise even if it was just a copper nail we would have heard about it. They call carmen in for all other metals found even if it’s a nail. Looks like a nail. Smells like a nail ect they still call him in to say yes that’s a nail for filler for the show apart from this metal.that vanished in to thin air when they dug deeper because it was faked.

Feet and Meters are not the same distance. The difference between 4 feet and 4 meters is about 8 feet. Gary stated the detector showed a non ferrous reading. Could be treasure, some other metal or a false reading which can happen. Your statement the show is set up is testament to your lack of knowledge on the topic.

Not true about Mary Magdalene. She went with her husband, Jesus along with their daughter Tamar to Wales. Where they are buried. The treasures are mostly in America and Canada.

Hi Albert, I am aware of the Welsh claim to MM. It's not easy to pin down, however. Some believe she was assassinated in Scotland. Others? Her relics are in Vezelay France where Bernard de Clairvaux preached the 2nd Crusade and others think that she is in Rennes le Chateau. Stating that 'it is not true...' Is a matter of belief unless definitive proof is found. All evidence relating to secret societies and their involvement in Oak Island is incredibly high. The activity level is of a sacred nature. Men don't risk their lives without cause, certainly not spendable treasure. I can't prove that she is interred on Oak Island or in the Louvre Museum, but I can say that it is possible when speaking about the Knights Templar. Or perhaps even the Head of John the Baptist. But I can't prove it, in the same manner you cannot prove she is in Wales. I myself do not think that the Welsh claim is solid. I understand also that you are a colleague Ms. D. M. who has claimed many unsubstantiated scenarios... I brought up a possibility as to the level of devotion on Oak Island via it's off-the-charts building projects. Only sacred treasures and relics of a potential 'saint' or historic figure would induce such fervor in the medieval mindset.
