Join us as we dive into the mystery behind Cathie Wood's obsession with Archer Aviation stock. Cathie Wood discusses her investment in Archer, a company focused on autonomous transportation in the skies. Wood explains that ARC, the investment firm she leads, acts like a venture capital company in the public equity markets and is not deterred by regulatory challenges. She expresses confidence in Archer's potential due to partnerships with Boeing, Stellantis, and United Airlines, as well as regulatory progress in other countries.

Archer Aviation has the right design but the chokehold will be finding enough commercial pilots to operate a fleet of these. It is possible that it could develop into feeder path for the airlines, but it is unknown if the airlines will embrace taxi pilots. The typical feeders for the airlines have been former military pilots and people flying regional routes for FedEx and UPS, where the hours are regular and the pay is good, so they can build flight hours in the national system at a very fast rate. This design though is far superior to the "Quadcopter" type air vehicles that most people seem to be focused on. Those vehicles are not really practical because they don't have the efficiency of a tilt rotor type design.

Great insight, shortage of pilots are an ensure, if profitable, airlines will embrace this sector due to partnerships.

@@SupplyDemandTradingStock The airlines are interested and I could see them offering an "ultra" first class service that might include checking in at a remote facility (downtown NYC as an example) and being ferried out to a special security gate, which they pay for. The cost of first-class international fights is quite high, but there seem to be lots of people willing to pay it, and this is something they could probably charge an extra $1000 for.

I think we need to also minimize risks.. underground tunnels would be better.

mmmm how eVTOL is different than a helicopter lol. I don't see people are taking heli rides left and right other than extremely few in NYC. eVTOLs won't be cheaper than a helicopter for a long time imo
@shenmisheshou7002
@shenmisheshou7002 2 ай бұрын
I think they will be cheaper. Helicopter maintenance is quite high, and this aircraft should require only a fraction of the maintenance of a rotorcraft. Also, it will be far more efficient. Rotorcraft are not very efficient designs. The tilt rotor is probably 50% more efficient. This design will also have far fewer moving parts than a helicopter. Now, will people take them? Perhaps, but the big challenge to getting a lot of people taking them will be getting a lot of commercial pilots, and that is where the real problem will be. The Airlines can't even get enough pilots, so to think we could have a couple of thousand air taxies in operation at any given time is a big leap. If you carry passengers for hire, you have to have a commercial license. Now in time, that might happen, but in the short term, it will be the limit. (I could see airlines offering air taxi transport to the airport for a new class of premium service as part of the cost of the ticket and airlines are already interested in buying these. Imagine being able to check in at a downtown location and being able to get the air taxi out to Kennedy Airport. Yeah, I could see that.)

Where you gonna land - Helipads at first. Then rooftops, the tops of parking structures and just plain single level parking lots. These aircraft land vertically and only need electricity. No jet fuel or the infrastructure it requires. Just a charger. Who's gonna fly - Pilots for the first few years, then they will be autonomous. They are easier to fly than helicopters or fixed wing aircraft due to the flight computers, so training won't be an issue. Also autonomous aircraft are FAR easier than self driving cars. Far fewer random actors in the skies, like pedestrians. Two phases of FAA approval - Actually 3, I belive for EVTOL'S. Joby has already completed phase one for their production aircraft. Archer will be starting soon. Oh, BTW, the former head of the FAA WORKS FOR ARCHER NOW!!! Can you say, fast track? Will FAA change requirements - Yes. These are a new class of aircraft, so creating new requirements for aircraft and pilot training are actually necessary. I'm pretty sure Cathie knows more about aviation than you. Lol!!!! 😂

Big elephant FAA. I DONT SEE PASSING .90 DIVE…….THIS THING IS PUSHING WAGON UP HILL….LOTS OF HYPE GREAT CREATIVITY BUT SORRY NOT GOING WORK .PEOPLE DONT EVEN USE HELICOPTERS
