Arr, not a pirate dog tale me matey. Tis a gold tale of a secret creek. A old miner saved all his gold dust, fine gold, gold flakes, gold pickers and gold nuggets. He found an old iron strong box having thick iron sides and riveted with thick iron rivets. During the dead of winter in howling storms he dragged that strong box on an old wood sledge to his camp at secret creek. It became his table in his miners cabin. Years went by and he got a huge linked iron chain with a ring on one end. With a hot coal fire and bellows he welded that thick chain to the strong box corner. Late summer when the days were short and the water low, he dug a deep hole next to the Secret creek rocky shore. He filled the strong box with all his gold and buried it. He wrote a note to himself about the location on Secret Creek-"Buried On Opposite Side" He thought of an easy word to remember the location-B(uried O(n) O(pposite) S(ide)--Boo for short. The old miner died unexpectedly that spring and was forgotten. Maybe some lucky gold prospector today will find that strong box. Boo to you.

The grandkids came to the old farm we have around Wells River VT. We have a brook flowing thru it. I wanted to salt the bottom of it with some gold pay dirt and let them pan. Unfortunately Twin Rivers on Rt 112 didn't have any gold pay dirt, so I dropped a couple bags of the gem stone pay dirt into the sand and turned them lose with garden shovels and gold pans and when the stones showed up I played stupid. Then I figured out how stupid I was because the kids asked me what kind of stones they were. I couldn't tell them there were so many and different kinds. One of these days buy a big bag from Rosie and do a show on it See if you can identify them. Also if you really want to see something and I think I mentioned thisn to you a year or so ago go mot Harvard University and go thru their museum, the one with then glass flowers and behold their mineral and gem collection , it is well worth the trip.

Boo was a cutie!

So this one time I was really stuck into my laptop doing some 3D modelling of a new 'orebody' that we had just drilled off and had been working on this for a couple of hours. I was at the dining room table because my office room wasn't finished yet. Our three kids were in the living room just feet away. My wife decided to come and interrupt me, looking for some attention, sat on my lap and started talking. I told her, "Hang on Babe, just give me a few more minutes to get this done." Her response was to put her arms around my neck and say to me, "Say some magic words in my ear and I will leave you alone." Now at this point, most men would know what to do but not me because I'm an idiot. I was so focussed on what I was doing and wanting to finish my work that I thought for a second and said (keep in mind my 3 young kids were all watching us attentively by this point), "Bibbety Bobbety Boo." At which point gales of laughter erupted from the living room and kids were rolling on the floor. I slept on the couch that night. But I got the 3D model done for presentation the next day. Pays the bills.

Where's the Honey Boo. Bet that would taste great.
