Just to expand my claim. We know that Jesus is the image of God. We also know that the man (Adam) was made in the image of God. So the image of something is clearly not that something i.e. Adam was not God. A photo (an image) of you is not you. But here we are considering the FORM of God. God is Spirit so what is the FORM of God? Or let me ask, “What is the FORM of a servant?”Can you tell by merely looking at a man that he is a servant? No, you cannot. So what’s the answer? Well, you have to look at what the man does to tell whether he is or isn’t a servant. Just so with Jesus, he came to reveal what God is like to the world. So it is in what Jesus says and does that God is revealed to the world. Unlike Adam and Eve who wished to have their eyes opened to be like God, Jesus did not fall into the same trap of Satan. Having been given all authority Jesus still avoided the temptation of claiming it at that time. So he emptied himself of the desires which beset us humans, he did not cling to them but humbled himself. “Whoever wants to be first must be last of all and servant of all.” And finally, Jesus says that he speaks and does only what the Father tells him and shows him. Just like a good servant would do. In Acts 3:13 Jesus is already in heaven and Peter refers to Jesus NOT as God but refers to him as, “- the God of all our ancestors - who brought glory to his SERVANT Jesus.” So in heaven Jesus is still not claiming his given authority but waiting until the right time has come - just like he did on earth.
