As I bring it up to people discovering Nake Gun, you want something different with Leslie Nielsen check out 1956's Forbidden Planet. It feels weird cause he became so known for his later work in spoofs like this to see him as a more standard good guy hero main character. Also, just good sci-fi movie on its own, with not nearly as goofy and cheesy special effects as you migth think of when you hear "50's sci-fi movie".

I just looked up some screenshots, I'm kind of shocked, but I've seen this movie! I remember the start where they were looking through a periscope maybe at a planet, and then they stood on something looking like transporter pads from Star Trek, which encased them in light while they travelled really fast or something. Never knew it was Leslie Nielsen :)
@CalciumChief
@CalciumChief Жыл бұрын
@@AthanImmortal I'm pretty sure it's a cult sci-fi flick (maybe even had a remake I don't know about), but feels more obscure these days. But yeah, it's biggest drawing power now is Leslie Nielsen before his hair was all white. You come for Nielsen, you stay for a genuinely interesting movie.
