Ocean of Sand - The Namib Desert | Free Nature Documentary
As if it were an ocean of golden sand, the Namib covers a large part of Namibia. It is the only desert on earth which reaches the ocean.
The Namib seems to be inhospitable but this impression deceives. The desert is home to the side winder snake the endemic Namib desert beetle and the desert elephants.
The Namib desert beetle for example uses the moisture of the clouds that drive inland from the sea. At the peak of the sand dunes he waits until the humidity condenses at his body. But this makes himself an attractive water supply for his enemies. The desert elephants are not only equipped with bigger ears than other elephants. They also walk on bigger feet to avoid sinking into the soft sand. The leading cow of the herd uses the oversized sensible feet to feel the vibrations of flowing water underneath the surface.

Its simple, Cause it’s a sidewinder. It slithers in a way so that its body isn’t touching the ground all at once which then helps it keep cooler. The second one is just common sense soo no need to explain it lol

🤔 I have a theory. Trees need water. There is no water. They had water once or there wouldn't be a tree. The tree would decay if what killed them gradually happened. For a tree to remain standing and not have time to decay means it didn't happen gradually. It points that it was very quick. Being in a desert kind of says it wasn't a desert when the trees were living but something happened so quick so sudden it stripped the water and killed everything living around rather quickly and changed the climate instantly so the trees didn't have time to decay.. two things come to mind. Trees are millions of years old and a victim when earth was knocked off it's axis and the waters shifted 🤔 wonder if there is a calculation to how far the ocean is away from them to where it would be if the planet wasn't tilted. Second would be near impact of huge meteor. Large enough to create a drainage affect of nearby rivers and alter there course. 🤔 Don't really know if it would create a climate change though.
