The Natural Part 1 tells the tale of Eddie Waitkus...a great player that had the misfortune of living through WW2 only to be shot by a crazy woman at home. #baseball #autographs #topps #exhibits #baseballhistory

Well done, Mike. Great coverage of an intriguing story. Glad you highlighted his World War II record. The man was a hero. Four Bronze Stars. Have a great Father's Day weekend.

Thanks Rob! I debated for months on whether to do just an Athletes at War video on Eddie, or a more complete story. The reality is that I'm so intrigued by his story that I thought it was worth exploring. Thanks for your support my friend.

Survived the hell that was the Pacific theater only to be shot by a stalker a couple years later. That was cruel. Indeed a sad story Mike. Great video on Eddie Waitkus.

Fantastic story about Eddie Waitkus. I had no idea about him having a stalker/obsessed fan. But i did not know a whole lot about Waitkus besides i have some cards of his and he was a good player. Love his 1952 Topps card. Enjoyed Mike and thanks for sharing with us! Love these Spotlights.

Splendid job Mike. Thank you for the information and backstory. I have never heard that song before so I had to go look it up. I figured it to be an old song but it was written in 2002. Very much enjoyed it. Have a great weekend.

Thanks Drew! I liked the song so much that I didn't want to cut it, which caused the video to be a bit long....ok, a lot long. LOL Anyway, Chuck Brodsky is the same artist that I used in the Dock Ellis video, and I'll probably use at least once more. Thanks again for watching and supporting my channel.

Very nice video, Mike. What a kind man to consider his father’s feelings about the left handed glove. Very sad how the fear and stress caused by the shooting ultimately contributed to his death at a young age. Well said about keeping his memory alive by having light hearted fun with the frequent mention of his name. I am not a big fan of 52 Topps design but I do like that Eddie card. Take care

This is the video that we’ve all needed. If Alex doesn’t shout this out and drop links if future videos I need to seriously reconsider my friendship with him.😉
