Watch 'til the end for a lil extra thingy! So fun fact.... the way I pronounce Odogaron is actually wrong. In Iceborne, the handler says it's name once, so good news: We have an official English pronunciation for once! Bad news: It sounds absolutely terrible lmao. You're supposed to say it with a stress on the o, almost with a french accent. I hated that so I decided to go with my prefered pronunciation lol.

Some monster names have multiple pronunciations in game. Tigrex for example is pronounced T-grex by the handler, Tai-grex (my pronunciation) from other official sources, or Kushala Daora, whose name is pronounced Kushala Day-O-ra by the handler and Kushala Dow-ra (the way I pronounce it) by the field team leader. My head canon is that they debate how many of these names are said in-universe and we should just pronounce them however we like.

Ah, yes the Rotten Vale, or as I like to call it: *”a decomposer’s heaven”.* Fun fact: in the top and middle floors of the map (as well as in one of its title screens), you can see sundews growing. It’s a carnivorous plant that grows leaves adorned with glue-tipped (like dew, hence the name) tentacles for trapping insects/arachnids like flypaper. Fitting, seeing as I can’t imagine the number of carrion-loving insects (i.e. flies) in a place like that.

I love it's moveset, design, sound design, speed, etc. It's such an incredible fight for someone like me who uses longsword. He's my favorite sparring partner for practicing foresight and with Iceborne the new Iai counters as well. Also let's talk about how amazing his armor is???? Badass samurai armor which is right up my alley. My favorite armors are the high rank b for females and master rank b for males. Also in terms of pronunciation of its name I pronounce it o-do-gar-on. But instead of gair i pronounce it like you would if you were to say "car" or "are". This is a great video!

I might be the one who is wrong, but I think that the synapse is the term for the space between the neurons where neurotransmitters are emitted from the axon terminal of the first neuron to the gates of the dendrites of the next. Also the refractory period refers to how often those gates are able to pick up a subsequent neurotransmitter.

If Ebony Odogaron was a result of the Legiana migration, then it couldn’t have been the same one we encountered in the Iceborne story. If it did, then it wouldn’t make any sense in real life. Real evolution takes eons - millions of years to make a new species from an existing one. There wouldn’t be enough time for a regular Odogaron to become Ebony if it started evolving in the Legiana migration we experience in-game. So in order for Ebony Odogaron to exist, there must have been previous migrations that have occurred over several generations for the base species to gradually adapt to the Coral Highlands.

I have a theory on how to Ebony Odogaron come to be, it may have survived an encounter with Savage Deviljho or eaten a deviljho carcass and not knowing the dragon energy exceeding by the deviljho it's body absorb the energy into the nervous system just like how Oceaniz said about the nervous system. It doesn't seem to have adapted fully to the dragon energy since there aren't many changes in its structure and it can't use dragon breath because the changes are recent. Give it time and it may be able to outpace Nargacuga in terms of speeds.

Odogaron is my favorite but the way he crumbles to every monster makes him the chihuahua of the monsters.

"crumbles to every monster"? he only straight up loses to Vaal Hazak, and Deviljho. An elder dragon and a elder dragon tier monster.

Extra note from the Odogaron that you didn’t mention: as a method of defense they also use the tails as a weapon. This tail is made out of cartilage and doesn’t have any nerves. This way if the tail gets cut the Odogaron doesn’t feel any pain and is able to regrow the tail. Going by this baby Odogarons would have a short stubby tail.

Yup I'm finally reliving my Physiology classes 😅 Here's an idea. Want Odogaron to go faster? Put some extra myelin sheaths and boost the ACTH intake 🤣 Too much Lactic acid buildup too yikes that's not good, I can only guess the amount of wasted myoglobins thrown out. Gotta eat again and fast
