[subtitles available] The largest glass roof in Europe, the Nave of the Grand Palais occupies an imposing volume of over 460,000 cubic meters, with a surface area of 13,500 square meters.
In this giant greenhouse, it was too hot in summer and too cold in winter.
How could the temperature be regulated while the floor remained solid enough to accommodate 9,000 visitors?
Claire Chaumier, Works Project Manager at Rmn-GP, explains the solution: an "active" slab, a reinforced structure worthy of civil engineering, with a gigantic network of pipes running through it.
Meet her and the people who designed and built this exceptional structure:
Cyril Leroux, Ingérop Project Manager, Etienne Robert, H.Chevalier Project Manager, and Edouard Drieu la Rochelle, Cegelec Business Manager.
