Although Chet is technically a rookie, he has already spent an entire year with his team, practicing and developing with them as well. Not only that, but he also has time to learn the plays and understand his teammate's games. The Thunder also has many good playmakers that can feed Chet and set him up for an easy bucket. Wemby as a rookie has had to create his own shots and, yes, carry his team offensively and defensively. Even though the Spurs record is terrible right now, without Wemby, no one else on that team has developed, and the Spurs would arguably have a much worse record without him

chet's "training" was mostly in a mobility scooter and hes proven this season that he is a fantastic iso scorer. The spurs record would also not arguably be worse without wemby because its hard to be worse than only winning 5 games.

That off the glass to himself I joint was crazy but I don’t see that happening. I mean, time will tell, he’s no shot creator like KD, nor the sniper KD is and he’s sure as hell not Giannis. It’s not even Giannis size and strength, he just doesn’t have that specific ability. It’ll definitely be interesting to see Wemby and Chet grow over the next few seasons.

Pistons fan here. I'd trade Thompson now while his stock is high. It's really difficult to play in this league if you can't shoot, it compromises the rest of the roster. I know we traded for shooting but I'd take Jarace Walker, the guy we could've drafted.

Chet isn't "clearly" better lol, he's just more efficient because he has an MVP caliber PG. Wemby is better in Blocks, Steals, and Rebounds by a significant margin. He's a much better defender.

Wemby leads all rookies in 4 major statistical categories. Points rebounds steals and blocks. He is top 10 in the league in rebounds an leads in the blocks. I would give the edge to Chet because of his efficiency and team record but they not that far off each other.

Let’s also take into consideration that Chet is A: not a rookie (I don’t care) and B: is on a team that “carry’s HIM” rather than Wemby “carry’s his team” If it’s going to be a close race and we want to take every statistic into consideration, it’s only fair.

I see the comparisons an the debate between chet an wemby but no lie all the rookies that come an get the award on their second season its just not the same. You gotta keep in mind the man wemby is playing his first season, so is chet but mans got a chance to see the nba up close an personal an really be in an nba practice and run reps. So there for its just not the same. You cant expect wembys efficiency to be the same. Hes a young KID running an nba team pretty much. Mans got a lot of pressure while chet is honestly taking a back seat not to crap on him or talk down. But he has shai who is the main threat. When theres another threat on the floor like him you can have lots of openings an spots to make things happen on the floor.
