The music and strobe lighting being hypnotic in itself was the primary thing that drew me but what was particularly unsettling (Besides the tied-up model spinning about in bondage mummy gear) was the predatory dead-eyed glances both of the other girls sitting together gave Elle Fanning's character at different points. Also like how the scene ends with the screen panning left with Elle Fanning's enraptured face almost being absorbed to what she's staring at. Like a sweet fly being drawn to a honeyed spiderweb.

@stef10742 жыл бұрын
The best scene of the movie together with the blood bath of Ruby later on. Everything about this scene is perfect : the music, he characters looking on at each other in the dark. Ruby already looks like a dangerous person : her reactions are scary, especially her fascination towards Jessy. This one seems to fall into a trap, mesmerized by the beauty of shiny neons...

I admit feeling really upset about the film. Not because of the ending. I just had some problems with the film’s pacing I guess? But can’t deny that after days of seeing it, I can still remember scenes from it. This scene in particular , as well as the casting scene, stood out for me - not much or no dialogue at all. This one’s dark and foreboding while the other one’s light and bare but you can see glances and reactions that, for me, speak more of how these characters think and what their motivations are. I dread to say this but this film might need a second viewing.

The proxemics of these shots and cinematography itself made me not to trust Ruby despite how friendly she appeared at a first glance. How she is standing behind Jesse in a quite sneaky way, how you don't see any real expression until Jesse looks at her and then she puts on the happy excited facade. The way Gigi glares at Jesse while red flashes are going on, it's just scary. She genuinely looks like a psychopath. Loved every minute of this film.

No.... it's a Shibari show. My ex-girlfriend has done Shibari shows, and I'm just a huge fan of Shibari in general. That is what they look like. Usually their a lot less dramatic though.
@Scarde137 жыл бұрын
Yes I know the Shibari, but it has a different meaning in the movie, there's no other people in that moment except the three girls and that creature. when they entered the club it was crowded. the real meaning of this scene is the irresistible attraction the dark and unknown world of fashion can have on a young and innocent girl; while she ignores the wolfs that it hides behind.
