I for one love CVS...they have great deals and i always use the coupons.They really do come in handy....they even gave me one for 20% off my next purchase last time i was there and used 5 coupons.

OMG! One of the larger pharmacy companies in my area gives you a receipt that's like 18" long when you buy only one item. When you buy more, I swear that the print gets smaller and the receipt adds another 1.5" of paper per item! LoL

I work at a CVS, so yeah. Some receipts can get really big. I usually have to change receipt paper rolls at least once during my shift. We go through them quite a bit. :\ I wished they would send all the coupons to the card itself or something of that sort to cut down on paper.

When my father had his heart by-pass surgery, my mom and I went to the clinic to pay the medical bill and it took to the old printer several minutes to ending the receipt, it was longer than me ! (I'm 1,7 m tall) it was terrifying :S

There are some good apps out there troubleshooting these long receipts. These oversized receipts are difficult however apps like ShopStore work well at managing the clutter and keeping it all organized. Just search receipt apps and you'll find some. Someone has found a solution.

I'm pretty sure he knows what AdBlock is already. He was telling the other commenters to stop whining about the ads.

Return the item right after you buy it, tear off the coupon and repurchase it.

You can get the coupons before you shop. Just scan your cvs card fifty cabillion times if you haven't been there in a while. It shows exactly what's on ur reciept.

Last year I bought a dress that I decided I didn't like after, I brought it home. I paid cash for it but when I went to return it I couldn't get cash back. I got it in the form of a receipt, so I would have to go back to that same store to spend it on something else. About a week later, my $130 credit, back to that store ended up in the wash and getting destroyed. The next day I went back and explained. They basically ended up saying too bad.... I was so pissed, I've never gone back.

And now i've just watched a show . I won't say which one , Ellen's :D

I know the bed, bath and beyond coupons are big but that helps because I don't lose them. :)

Once I went to go buy something at Walgreens, and the item I wanted had two different brands. I went with the one that was two dollars cheaper because I didn't have much to spend that day. Attached to my receipt was a coupon for two dollars off of the price of the more expensive one. :/

I bought one item from a Sears and their receipts are about as long as that entire thing. For just the purchase. Not counting the 5 coupons that printed afterward. >.

I work at Fred Meyer and when it prints those coupons, sometimes it starts printing at the beginning of the order and keeps going throughout the whole order. And 9 times out of 10 the customer throws them away, or asks me to throw them away.

It's a snide comment on the fact that Staples, a business depot and electronics store here in Canada, print out a receipt of a similar length, usually for just one item. Most of it is to do with a customer satisfaction survey. Of course, because of the Official Languages Act, which dictates that English and French have equal status, everything on the receipt is in two different languages.

I recently went into a shoe shop in the UK, where they brought the card machine to me while I put my shoes back on, and then took my email address to email me the receipt (there was no physical receipt). Now I know they're just doing that to get my email address and send me lots of ads, but that's why I've got a special email address I give to companies! Although I'm not sure exactly how a return works then - do I have to print of the email, or can I just give them my email address and it comes up on their system?
