Here is the new 8 speed wiring setup, using only 5 wiring connections.. Red to battery Yellow the key power while cranking in the TIPM Black ground White with black Can Bus White with Red Can Bus

The trans harness has come a ways in the last couple years. Alot less hookups. Definitely interested in hearing about the oil cooler setup too

Yes the 8 speed swap has gotten better and better and the oil cooler and oil filter relocation is to help with the Jeeps that have clearance problems and heat issue..

Just got my wiring kit yesterday, putting an 845 in my 2017 3.6. Glad you posted this, was wondering where to tap the canbus. One question, what is the TCM to USB plug that comes in the kit?

That plug is for and updates to the PCS Module and so you can monitor the transmission ..

Hello from Slovenia, Europe, I really like your work. I have a 2010 JKU Rubicon and I am stuck with a 3.8/42rle and my dream is to do a 5.7/8spd swap one day, but making V8 swap road legal in my country is almost a mission impossible plus annual road tax is very expensive for anything above 3 liter and price of petrol is currently 6.5$/gallon. Even 3.8 is considered a big engine for a car in our part of world, but at least used hemis are reasonably accessible in Europe (unlike LS engines, since GM is not present in EU). I was wondering, if 8hp Bosch TCU could directly communicate with Continental ECU, which is used on pentastars and newer hemis. There are Chrysler applications, where similar looking Continental ECU communicates thru CAN messages directly to 8hp. It seems like, that you would only have to extract and adapt newer ECU programming and there would be no need for PCS can converter. Have you eve tried to overcome this solution, it would make integration a lot cleaner.

We can not put a 8 speed behind a 3.8L because of the rear crank sensor in the bel-housing.. If you could figure out the crank sensor thing the 8 speed would work .

Is this the same harness as the one you sell online? And is it the same one for 3.6 liter 8 speed trans swap or is it a different one?

Yes this is the only wiring Harness we sell and it works with the 3.6L 8 speeds and the V8 8 speeds. This actually works with any engine application..

Can you tell us what the description for the; location you used for the fuse tap? My 2009 describes that position as M28 NGC/TRANS FEED/J1962. i understand they are not all the same, but we could look for the description to see if it is located in another spot. I am in the middle of installing the trans kit but have not soldered anything yet.

The key goal is the have key power and while starting, maybe the ECU fuse or the transmission fuse. You just don't want to lose power to the yellow wire while driving, now it does not pull any amps..

@@jeepspeedshop m28 did not work for me.., gear selector lights stayed on with key power off. Based on a wiring diagram M15 and M37 were key power and crank for my 2009. Both have long descriptions...M15 includes hvac/atc, ee vw mir, t-case sw, run/st multiftcn sw, tp...M37 includes abs/esp/stp, fuel pump rey, hi cntrl.

Can you use a JL/JT shifter instead of the challenger shifter?

So that is tricky and we have found some problems with that, the early shifters are different than the later and i think earlier is 2019 and up and they will only work with the HP75 and the JL/JT transmissions, but even then it is touch and go..
