I agree 100% how she hovers soo close and interjects while the contestants are speaking. Jim Lange didn't hover and he just let all contestants be themselves.

I didn't wanna SAY anything, but YEAH, she also did a LOT of outfit, earring and shoe changes during our show, and THAT was a lot of fun. LOL (one reason why I didn't go back despite the producer's multiple requests)

Not only standing so close, but pretty much breathing down the contestant's neck, injecting what to me only seemed like UNWANTED commentary, and basically making a nuisance of herself! I mean, the producers of the show actually WANTED her to do all of that? REALLY? WHY??? Jim Lange never did all of that! He sat the contestants down in the chair, and then cut them loose to ask questions--and then he got the f++k out of the way, and gave them the floor and let them do all the talking instead of hanging around like a distracting little mosquito that you just want to swat and kill! I mean, Jesus, Elaine Joyce, you were like something straight out of an SNL skit, where you're so annoying as to possibly be funny in being so--in a preposterous kind of way (which either strikes the "funny bone" nerve of the viewer, or backfires and fails miserably to do so). Pot smokers may have been laughing at you as they mowed through their pints of Ben and Jerry's--but I WASN'T!! Why take the show the way it was, and muck it up with complete absurdity?! If it ain't broke, don't fix it!......

It was almost like she was giving hints to the man of her choice.

You are indeed correct, sir! The lady who won the Seattle date picked the paid actor instead of the two actual contestants, my father being the tall one. The audience wanted her to pick anyone but the paid actor, and had she done so, they would have gone to some place much nicer. My father and the other guy knew the moment they heard the girl's voice that they didn't like her and made joke answers. I do not know if The New Dating Game always had at least one paid actor of the three contestants, but on this one they did.

The third guy that won the date with Vanessa was an actor as well.

My late husband was on the show just before we met and when he was undergoing chemo shortly after we found the tape of the broadcast, he mentioned he would like to know what happened to the other “loser” from that Dating Game. It took me 4 days and lots of emails trying to find the guy, but I did and he and my husband exchanged emails and we went to dinner with him and his fiancée the year before my husband died. They picked up their conversation from 25 years earlier and didn’t stop talking all night.

Me, too! Never got to see it, thanks to Ronnie Reagan's "State of the Union Address", which usurped the airing. Since she didn't answer YOU, I probably won't be asking for MY show, either. LOL I LOST, btw, but was followed to the parking lot to sign autographs, 'cause "I SHOULD have won", according to my newly-acquired fans! They called and left messages at home and work every bloody DAY, but I never went back, and then Mr. T stole my limo when I WAS going to come back! Even funnier.
