Ok, Andrew Robinson since you finally got around to reviewing the something from the Arendal line, you now have to do yourself the favor of reviewing the Perlisten S7 Towers or anything from that brand. The reason, if you're not aware, is because the former head designer at Arendal left and started the Perlisten company, and these speakers are incredibly great. I have heard them personally and believe that you and your wife would absolutely love them, and more than likely swap out your new endgame speakers. Keep up the great work. Also, three other brands I hope you look at, are Goldenear, Spatial Audio(their X series or Sapphires), and Ohm from Brooklyn.

Like Kristi said, You have come a massive long way in your reviews, I watched one from 3 years ago today and the difference in overall quality and confidence in yourself and what you’re reviewing is massive! Congrats to you and also Kristi on being the best audio visual channel on KZfaq, you both seem like such down to earth people in a sea of pretentious audiophiles!

Great review you two. 😀 I purchased the Arendal 1961 towers, 1723s center, 1961 monitors for side are rear surround duty, and 1961 atmos for ceiling. 1723 1V sub. When I demo’d the 1961 monitors it was like pure bliss. Sounded so nice. Better when louder!😂 My wife and I listened to music for 4 hours. So fun. I did purchase the Outlaw Audio 7000x amplifier. Balance and unbalanced connectors. 200watts 4ohms all seven channels. Using a Denon X6200W for receiver. Just running the 2 atmos speaker from the receiver. The amp really helps the 7 main speakers. Receiver is cooler. I like that there are actual mounting holes for brackets built into the speakers. Great fit and finish. The speakers are friggin awesome!!! Thanks for what you’s do. Have a great one😀🍻

Being a patriot i had to try these speakers. Started with a pair of the reviewed ones, and ended up with a 9.4.6 setup for my theatre (1723/1961) and a stereo setup w/sub for my livingroom! I love the whole lineup of speakers Arendal provide👌

i am an owner of the 1961 monitor(MTM), i went for the extra 5" woofer. if you have dsp available to you, in a small room you can push these to 30hz. but still i went for dual 10" subwoofers and set high pass to the arandals. i had some spendors before them and the 1961 kept up with them :) but the white color in the review looks nicer, the black i have just blends in.

This brand is high on my list for my HT revision. The fast rolloff around 80 probably has to do with building around THX specs. That also allows them to seal the box, making placement along the walls better. I'd wager the floor standing speakers to be better for stereo if you want to go without sub.

Great to see this good objective review! Fun to see/hear you both excited as well as reined in enough to offer a valid critique. This review reminds me how good your channel can be. For anyone considering Arendal: I made a big investment (for me) going upscale a bit from the 1961. I own three 1723 Monitor as L/C/R (not the 1723 S version, nor the tower version--so the MTM configuration; 2 ports that I have never opened because I bought the 1723 2 Sealed sub at the same time). They're much larger and quite heavy plus the sub exceeds what I can lift safely. Before this, 2 subs were in use here. Happy to say I nailed the placement for the single 1723 2 Sealed and have nothing but love for this brand. Bass is a joy and so well joined at 80Hz that it defies description. 1723 Monitor compares well against my KLH Model 5 (newish model), vintage Yamaha NS-1000M and my pair of OLA from 1974 too. Also bests several others from the decades between.

I have a full 7.1.4 Arendal 1723 setup and these are the most incredible speakers I've ever owned or heard. I happy I invested last year before the 2 price increase they did and even with the price increase they are still great money for what your getting. I have a sim racing rig and have bought the 1961 for my setup and paired with a spare svs pb-1000 pro makes my racing so much better. I will say these are good for very small rooms or desktop setups as they won't blow your socks off but they can handle loads of power. Anyone looking to build a HT the 1723 S or 1723 thx are incredible even the monitors will do more then most towers can but if you get these in tower format they will make your house fall apart.

Honestly would love to see you review the 1961 towers and center channel. Like you said a lot of woofers can either go really well or badly, unlike the buchardt a700 - you won't have the ability to tune it in dsp. For the center speaker it uses a MTM design which is least favourable in the audiophile world with 3 way designs being most preferred. Would love to see how they shake up.

I really like the idea of mids/highs only "stand mounts" because I already have a SVS S2000 sub and would definitely consider these if I didn't just receive the pair of Polk R100's I got on sale. I am super happy with the R100's already btw.

Funny, weeks of research, bought 4 -1961 bookshelf’s, center and sub, next day I saw this video. I just wanted a step up from a sonos arc setup. Great job discussing how to power them! 🤔… Denon 3700 is where I’m leaning Worth noting WHY I chose these. Was trying to mostly kid proof the system. Metal grills, smaller cabinets, able to wall mount or shelf on wall to keep away from baby, they look and sound great. All boxes checked!

Glowing review! Nice to see Arendal getting some love. Their team and mission seems to be exactly what Audio Community needs, even if some people do not agree with their products, there business model and aproach to making products is arguably the better part of why buy/support them. I'm definitely looking at their 1723 series for a full theater. - SIDE NOTE.. The Monolith ( yes, yes I KNOW, commenters. relax. breath. .. )... Monolith Encore series speakers share 'some' relation to the Arendal. I'd be keen on seeing a review of Monolith to round off the 'budget' options and contrast the ' what do you get for $$' perspective. Thanks for this one!

I’ve got both the 1961 Monitors as well as a bunch of 1723S’s in my HT and completely agree with your assessment. It took me a minute to realize that the more you push them the better they are. But I love that about them. My previous Klipsch RP’s had a ceiling that if pushed through my ears would bleed. The Arendals on the other hand I can push as much as I can handle and get nothing but clean dynamic output. Look forward to your review of the 1723/1723S.

For those who are not familiar as to why they need more power it is because 4 ohm speakers are rated nowadays at 2.83V @1M ( ohm dependent sensitivity) instead of the old days of 1W @ 1M ( true speaker sensitivity) most AVRs for example do not increase wattage when faced with a 4ohm load so you are always compromised when fed 4ohm speakers... In other words running the AVR at half it's original power... Dedicated amplifiers however do gain on average 50% power when the load of the speakers goes from 8 to 4 ohms but the amplifier itself is now presented with double the workload so it is also compromised but less so than a AVR... Hence why we have double down amplifiers which were invented in the USA in the 90s due to the change from 1W to 2.83V... 🤔

They are fantastic speakers and very capable. I do use the 1961 towers as my left and right mains. They are very good, but are best when paired with a sub. I use two subs in my system, an SVS SB3000 and the Arendal sub you reviewed. I wanted to see how their sub performed. If I had it to do over, I probably would have gone with another SVS for ease of use. I use them primarily for movies, but I do enjoy listening to music on the system as well. They perform extremely well with both.

Finally, my dude. It took you long enough. I've been yelling about these in your comments for at least two years, lol. These have been rocking my living room for at least that long. Highly recommend the entire 1961 series. NOTE: For those who already have a Sonos Amp and want to use this in a living room setup like me, that combo is #chefskiss for sure.

Thanks for your awesome reviews! I have been watching lots of your videos last few days, and it’s absolutely awesome! I’m looking for a 5.1 system for my HT system, and I got a pair of ceiling speakers (Focal Dome). Would it be necessary to have also a pair of Focals for L and R speakers? Those Arendal speakers are gorgeous, and I’m really tempted to got those instead of the Arias 926 (my room is about 12-13 square meters). My amp is a NAD T778, not sure if it will do well with the Arendals. Thanks for your advices, and keep up the good work! 👍

Your review of the Magnat LCR Ultra THX introduced me to your channel because I was looking for that type of speaker, and since Arendal makes a similar monitor style speaker with two drivers versus one on the bookshelf, how would you estimate the two would compare to each other, since you were high on the Magnats when you reviewed them? Thanks.

Great review 👍 These speakers are on the list for 7.2.4 set up, in fact I can’t really see a reason not to buy them, I would have liked a slightly cheaper speaker as these are at top end of the budget(pairing with the Denon 6700) though, but don’t see anything cheaper being as good? Great Review. This is my first time commenting... Based on this and other reviews, Arendal is on the short list. I also would like to see the towers reviewed. I have 2 questions. 1) You mentioned the great center imaging. Do you recommend a center channel for home theater use, or can this do the job? 2) I would love to see you review a DIY on my short list. Would you consider reviewing the CSS Criton 1TD-X (or possibly the GR Research X-LS Encore)?

I took this as a sign to place an order. Have been torn between several options for upgrading my LCR. Arendal was at the top of the list so I figured if you loved the 1961 so much the 1723 should be fantastic. Just clicked order on the 1723 S center and 1723 S bookshelves for L/R. Hopefully my Emotiva A3 has enough juice to run these well! You can tell the Arendal rep that you helped sell three more speakers 😄

Hey Kyle, we really appreciate you going the extra mile to get us credit for your purchase. With regards to the finish, in a home theater environment (even a 3 channel one), I would steer you towards the matte finish to avoid reflections and seeing what is on your screen bouncing back at you from multiple angles.
@UncleKarlito
@UncleKarlito Жыл бұрын
@@andrewrobinsonreviews that was my first thought too but they were out of the satin in Chicago so I'll have to wait for it from Norway, I'm an impatient person lol I figured I'd probably lay some black velvet on top if there's a bad glare off my A80j that sits above it. Main concern with the gloss I'm having now, is if I want to upgrade to the monitor for L/R, the gloss is being discontinued so I won't be able to get matching monitors. Not sure if I'll ever need to upgrade from the bookshelves though... Btw, I'm sending an email to Anthem to tell them they need to get you a sample. I heard you say they having been unwilling in another video and now their sister co. Paradigm is playing the same game. I have an Anthem MRX 740 and love it! I think they have an amazing product but people partially overlook it to go Denon/Marantz because they are being stingy with reviewers like yourself. I was really interested in the Paradigm Premier 600c and 800f but there are so few reviews...

Might be a grounding issue, whether that's with the sub or with the wireless sub kit it's something i just had to deal with for my new amp. It was picking up GPU Coil Whine from my computer and amplifying and playing it through the shared ground between my computer, my dac, and the amp. Had to go optical to fix it. so... yeah.
