Just purchased the G70 3.3t, very comfortable, very fast, total sleeper. Extremely impressed. Pretty hard getting it though, had to wait 8mo for it to arrive… smiles per miles, it’s really hard to beat

I did own a 2018 CLA 45 and now I’m driving a 2022 G70 3.3. And with no doubt in my mind, CLA 45 it’s a better car: funnier to drive, way better acceleration, look pretty inside and outside, I haven’t had any issu, better sound, better dealer experience, better handling, … there’s no comparaison possible. That beating said, G70, is not a bad car! It’s just a step behind German in my opinion.

That much power out of a 4-cylinder?! Knowing how quick my 2022 G70 3.3 is, I'm in awe of the AMG. For a daily driver though, I'm still pleased with my choice (not that I could afford the AMG comfortably, anyway).

You didn't compare the G70 with the Sport Prestige package. That has Brembos, adjustable dampers and a limited slip rear diff.

Something is wrong with that G70, I consistently get mid 4s in mine (2022 3.3T AWD sport prestige). 5.76 is way slow.

The CLA isn't really a Genesis G70 competitor, but there aren't very many subcompact luxury sedans on the market. So you'll have to work with what's available.

I would like to lease the AMG CLA-45. I would like to own the Genesis G70 because of the cost out-of-warranty.

The styling of the AMG sadly looks kinda droopy. The face looks angry, but overall the lines kinda droop. The Genius looks happy. Like its smiling at you from every direction, but those headlights need work.

Yeah, I think you're underselling the value of the G70...similar package, but significantly cheaper. I'll take the G70 all day for similar performance, a more comfortable drive, and save the $20k.

People are not use to seeing them. In California, you see as many BMW and Mercedes as you do Toyota Corolla. Unless it's painted in a unique color, who cares! When I'm on the freeway enjoying my commute, people in BMW'S and Lexus have the biggest issue with me. Always trying to speed up and jump in front of me. You must have a bad Genesis. Other tests got 0-60 in the 4s. Genesis also rates it about 4.5 seconds.

Strange to even talk about them in the same video. Anyways, I added a moderate ECU/TCU tune to my G70 3.3T and hit 0-60 and 1/4 mile faster than the AMG CLA45.. best of both worlds and still way cheaper.

Just fyi...the G70 is just a refresh. A damn good refresh, but refresh nonetheless. Imo the GV70 is the best pure new design from Genesis (both inside & out).

The Genesis trashes the CLA in terms of looks. That CLA has ricer written all over it, and in the most distasteful way possible. You'll also be lucky to get 60,000 miles out of that MB 2.0L turbo engine.

That CLA AMG is sick because it's a performance model. But there's no way in hell I'd be 70K for an entry level C class (no matter how much performance tuning). For 70K, I'd buy a pre-owned CPO Jaguar F Type SVR that's originally 130K. Sorry...but CLA is cool, but not that cool for 70K. The Genesis is cool, but I'd rather own the GV70 if I were to get a Genesis.

Seriously? The G70 has a pretty body but flip it over and you can't tell it apart from a Kia Stinger. That is an OK daily for most people but come on, any AMG is "special" by default. For people who want their car to be "special", there is zero to think about here----they would not even consider the G70.
