Nice video James looking at the difference between the two I personally think Tom stands out better with the accolades. I know looking through the units yourself the picture quality looks better rather than on video but still interesting to see the difference between the two 👍

You can see some finer details with the mergers....but..as an Accolade 2 owner...I'm not too green with envy.. phew... I do wonder how much light escapes with the mergers...the automatic screen on and off seems great ..but...if there is significant light spill...that's no good for foxing...

Would have more sense to compare the Accolade Pro's so we could have seen if the Merger's had anything extra other than their shape !

After having purchased the Pulsar Merger, now three months ago, this is my experience. First trials of use were disappointing with grainy and blurry image, compared to my previous much cheaper HikMikro OWL OH35 used successfully for wildlife studies (see my wolf footage here on KZfaq). I may have had a bad copy with the calibration quickly going from reasonably clear image to very grainy/blurry thermal image. The image of the Merger compared to the Accolade in the current testing is telling as well. My dealer sent the Merger back to Pulsar, but so far (now two months ago) no response. The dealer is not happy either. To my personal mails to Pulsar I got standard succinct replies that a new update would fix things. That was no consolation expecting a 4000+ quid thermal cam glamorously advertised as providing great image quality to be top-notch from the outset. Hence thoroughly dissatisfied and I will not recommend Pulsar. In the end I left with the Pulsar Helion 2 Pro which has better imagery than (my copy of the) Merger. The only thing I miss from the Merger is the ability to view binocular, to avoid blackout of one eye. My Helion, however, also has a defect, namely, instead of the 2,5 magnification it shows a 2x basal field of view. Which is odd, but doesn’t affect the purpose of the thing….I guess it’s a bit of a hit or miss thingy, these Pulsar’s, but an expensive one. I feel more objective or independent reviews will eventually solve the problem or lift up the standard and lower prices, instead of bloggers praising these things just to make a buck.

What do these look like during the day?

The accolade looks much better than the merger. Far sharper and brighter image on the accolades.

There is no significant technology upgrade to convince Accolade's users to upgrade their devices to the Merger. Shame on Pulsar. No 12um chip, wasting of money at all.
