I use my LCT press for 223, 300 Blackout, and now 300 HAM'R. Aside from a single Lee auto drum powder measurer that I use for all three calibers (i have several drums set for a specific power/volume), all three turrets are set for powder charge, seat, a crimp. I like to resize small batch on a separate single stage press or in bulk on an APP press.

Great video, I like your delivery and how clean your shop is 👍 I own a Lee Classic Turret and love it. I've loaded .223 and will be loading .308. I use the Lee Auto Drum powder measure and the RCBS powder checker, to me its a must. Unfortunately this moved crimping to a secondary operation. If Lee ever offered a 5 hoke or 6 Turret press If buy it. I have a Lee 6000 press I like, 6 hole and just acquired a Hornaday Lock n Load. With the 6000 snd running. 223, frankly progressive reloading has an element of stress the Turret does not. The reason is with the Turret all focus is a single case and operation, though very fast, while the progressive you are watching many things so it takes incredible focus and attention, you need to go slow, such as 6 things at once, case feeding, powder dump, powder check, bullet drop "Mini Mr Bullet Feeder", did it drop, help it drop if not, did the bullet fall off or stay on the case neck? Bullet seat then crimp. I don't prime on press, too many things can go wrong and make a mess or stop the press. None of this is really an issue with the Turret, its beautifully straightforward and simple. It is fun to use and bullet proof. I'd recommend this press to ANYONE. As you said Reloader, the Turret having all of your dies which you can change in seconds is awesome. And, fully indexed or manual, you can do that too. For what little you pay for this press vs what it can do for you is a no rrainer purchase. I love it. From what I am aware of no other brand of press has auto indexing. Its a winner.

Thanks. I think the LCT is the most versatile press period! If you poke around my channel, I have more than a few videos on my Hornady LnL and things I've done to it over the years (all mechanical).

Re loader I've noticed that your index rod square hatchet (top) is made of metal. Mine is made of plastice in both directions. Did you order yours special?

Must have been the lighting, as mine is also plastic. When I looked into this years ago I learned Lee made this part of plastic on purpose. Their point was if they made it out of harder material (steel?), instead of failing or wearing down over time, it would wear down a more expensive part (the index rod), so why not make the wear part a very inexpensive and replaceable part. Makes sense when you think about it. I went through a number of them when I first started until I discovered that removing the die head when the ram was all the way down (handle up) puts pressure on the ratchet piece, but when you have the ram almost all the way up (handle down) that's when you should be removing the die head. I haven't changed a ratchet square in years, so they can last a very long time when addressed properly. I was hoping someone would make one out of Delrin. Still "soft" enough to wear and not damage the indexing rod, but stronger that molded plastic. Haven't found one yet. So I found a place online (long time ago) that had them priced cheap enough that I bought a bunch (anticipating I'd be going through many/frequently). Hasn't been the case. Probably go through one every few years now. To me, the is absolutely the best press made for the money.

Because the kit is vert expensive about $400 and without the kit $135

@@user-qn6jo9xl4r - My first Lee Classic Turret purchase in 2010 was a kit (just getting started). It was also a LOT cheaper back then. The only thing I didn't use in the kit was the scale, ended giving that away for free. You have to travel down the path that is good for you. Some like the kit, some do not. Buying the press separately allows you to customize everything else (scale, powder charge, etc.), but then that also means you have to find/buy (shipping charges add up!) everything else you will need. Hard enough right now to find either from what I can see in the market.
