Scooby-Doo is finally getting a new show after the disaster of Velma! In Scooby-Doo's next adventure on Cartoon Network, the Mystery Inc formula is gone as Shaggy and Scooby head to Japan to fight monsters they unleashed. What can we expect from the first Scooby-Doo anime?

@@whitegoku9918 They actually went in the less politically offensive route and added two new characters, one japanese, and one black person to replace Fred Daphne and Velma in the main quartet. It's definitely similar to a conversation I had about Scooby Doo Mystery inc. Angel Dynamite was a cool new character, though it would've been nice to see her character rebooted outside the Crystal Cove timeline under her lesser known name from before she quit Mr. E's Mystery inc. team. And who knows, maybe Shaggy will encounter his girlfriend from the reluctant werewolf movie if they ever do an episode with Dracula.

So basically it's a reimagining of The Thirteen Ghosts Of Scooby-Doo except there are no traces of Scrappy, Daphne and Flim-Flam (and Vincent Van Ghoul as well), there are more than thirteen ghosts that get unleashed unto the wild world of Hanna-Barbera and it's in the animated style of Sailor Moon.

The bumper also gives me really similar vibes to Gegege no Kitaro. It’s about a young boy who can see and communicate with Yokai (Japanese demons and spirits), and uses his abilities to prevent them from causing havoc in the human world.

Everyone just wanted Mystery Inc season 3, tho. Why. Why do companies just do the exact opposite of fan demand? I'm not crapping on That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Talking Dog With A Stoner Friend, but also, no one _asked_ for it. And that seems to be the best we can hope for now. We order a burger and fries, but they say "Sorry. Burger and fry machine are broken. Here's something else." And we just gotta hope whatever messed up random order we got is edible.

It’d be interesting if the crew actually capture the creatures with a method like in The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo… Though admittedly a chest might be a little overdone And no, I don’t advise using “Capture Spheres” either… Don’t want GameFreak to get upset… But I do think it’d be interesting to see Shaggy and Scooby of all people, capturing dangerous mythical creatures and saving the world in the process

So I think it's super cool that A. They put the steering wheel on the right side of the car, for LHD countries like Japan and B. The car is styled like a Kei truck, it's a truck style only available in japa, they're super tiny to get around tax laws, but have really well built bodies and engines!

As much as I'm looking forward to this upcoming Scooby Doo anime, Without Fred, Daphne and Velma in it. It feels like it's gonna be like "The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo" all over again. I mean 13GSD is one of my favorite Scooby Doo shows, I'm just saying that without Fred, Daphne and Velma this anime will probably feel like a repeat of 13GSD.

@@TheCommenterDragon Daphne was in 13 Ghosts in 1985 as an action girl that wasn't afraid to be goofy sometimes since New Scrappy Mysteries which had brought her back in 1983 had placed her in the driver's seat as the team mom. If anything this is Get A Clue meets 13...and Daphne really should be here...how do you do an anime Scooby without the one who knows karate?

The title of this new Scooby-Doo Series, "Go-Go Mystery Machine", sounds interesting and very amazing to check out in the future and I guess the Live Action series being made by Netflix is still a Work-in-Progress right now, same with Scooby-Doo: Gremlins Getaway (a possible DTV Crossover between Scooby-Doo and Gremlins)!

Imma say it now; this has a lot of potential. With the damage caused by 'she who shall not be named' (original, I know), the Scooby-Doo needs a fresh new start going away from the last "project", and this looks like it could deliver what the fans wanted but with a new twist. I held the belief that if they wanted the last "project" to see some success, they should have just made brand new characters that take up the mantle of the Mystery Gang. At least that would have lessened the blow to them. This might actually be a good thing IF they don't fumble the bag again.

Almost out of necessity, every new series will have to shake the old model and reimagine the characters and the world they livein (the gang as kids, monsters are real, Scrappy, there was a previous Mystery Inc., etc.). Some choices were better than others, but, at this point, the original is, at most, a suggestion.

Hope Fred, Velma, and Daphne will make guest roles in this series, even Scrappy Doo needs a better resurgence. We already seen The Powerpuff Girls, Ninja Turtles, and Dispicible Me get the anime treatment. I hope this anime Scooby will more successful.

I'm interested to see where this Scooby iteration will go. The more I think about it, combining scary and spooky youkai with Scooby Doo might actually fit really well. I'm a little sad that Fred, Daphne, and Velma don't seem to be in this iteration, but I know it isn't the franchise's first time taking them out of a series, and hey, I loved Ghoul School as a kid, so I'm keeping an open mind. I'm excited to meet the new characters though! They look fun.

I can see this being a blend of Scooby Doo and the 13 Ghosts and Yokai Watch (I know, there’s people who don’t like Yokai Watch but I think it’s got some charming designs)… It might be cool to see the crew befriending some of these monsters, or even utilizing their help to defeat other terrifying beasts!

However, even if it’s interesting to see the main 2 going on their own adventures again with new friends, I’d like to see Fred, Daphne and Velma appearing in at least one or two episodes, even if just to see how they’d look in that style! ^^

It's pretty much a more anime themed versions of 13 Ghost of Scooby Doo, which I recall a lot of fans liking. This can go well as long as the writing sticks to landing.

I’m excited!! As a 2000’s kid I seen quite a few good cartoons and English dubbed anime over the years and well there has been quite the up’s in downs on the now 2020’s era. But seeing that Scooby doo will finally have a cool anime styled show but not only that but with just Shaggy and Scooby going to Japan it really gets me hyped i remember playing the point and click and puzzle games of when Scooby and shaggy went off on their own to just relax before being pulled into a mystery because of their affiliation to the Mystery gang so this makes me excited that this new show may bring that feeling for me again since it was so fun!

I honestly LOVE the design for the new Mystery Machine! I believe it's mainly based on the Kei trucks that are driven around Japan. (I can tell it isn't the size of a proper Kei truck, but it does have some design elements of one!)

I think scooby's design translated well into the style Shaggy however, not so much, he looks more like a kid cosplaying as shaggy and doesn't really feel shaggy

@@DavidMartinez-ce3lp just because Velma is Indian and Mindy is Indian does not make it self insert my point was just because someone makes a character of the same race of them doesn't mean it's self insert Velma's race has been changed before just look at the live action movies and Scoob heck most of the gang have been race swapped at least once. Velma doesn't act like Mindy they don't share the same career, and even if HBO Velma is different then traditional Velma she over all still acts like most versions of Velma snarky, skeptical, and annoyed by idiots sharing the show runners race does not make it a self insert

Honestly i can see this show working just got to have scoob and shaggy go on a vacation to japan with no intention of mystery solving just to encounter a mysterous monsters in japan and that they would need to enlist the help of a foriegn team that they would to to form temporarily for the time being of shaggy and scooby being in japan heck maybe the new team members may stay united in some way when shaggy and scooby leave and go back to the U.S where fred, velma , and daphine are but for one thing for certain it will explain why the mystery machine is replaced by a japanese pickup truck and why they investigating / encountering japanese themed enemies

I think the new Scooby-Doo series is about to move to Adult Swim (like My Adventures with Superman) or probably Boomerang later this year or the following year in order to avoid tax write offs or it may be getting cancelled in the few months.
