The fact that they’re shutting down support for dreams proves they don’t pay any attention to the creators in the community. This is beyond amazing.

It's because they can't monetize it correctly on the obsolete PlayStation network for them downloading dreams costs a lot of bandwidth and since it's not f2p and stuck on a dumbass console nobody wants to develop on it was inevitable. Even if the game was financially successful which it could never be by being console exclusive it would eventually go down after PS4 store goes down. move to source 2 Godot or unreal anything is better than using an engine that can't even use vulkan because it's trapped is sonys FreeBSD hell

pc would have fixed so many issues people had with dreams(m&k support instead of forcing motion controls or that terrible alt version) but Sony was being sony. ironically the game wouldn't even exist without sony paying for the lights for mm for +8 or whatever years it took them to make it so its pretty bittersweet all in all. you'd think with Sony's new direction with making helldivers for pc they would try to cash in on dreams by porting it, they clearly lost money on the project and should try to salvage it, so many people would buy a game making software like this too

@@ringforce2072 that part is different, as you can see in the thumbnail and level, the chains from little planet have blown off and scattered around never lake as a sign of progression after the events of Sonic CD

So, this is peak. Like, literally. Only thing I ask is that there be some way to adjust the camera? Cause I really can’t see sonic at all when he’s going fast. It’s so far away and it’s even worse cause my vision isn’t the best. Great work on everything though.

Parkour? People hated parkour when Sonic Lost World did it, it's only more popular now because Sonic Team DIDN'T make it. It was always a fun mechanic, but people jumped on the media's "Sonic Team bad" train and the mechanic would get slated if they did pick it up again. Remeber, Sonic Adventure did this exact implementation of it with the "Jump on panel number one" thing.

@BlueEyedVibeChecker I never played Sonic Lost World nor heard of that mechanic. I heard criticism for the Lost World game but that particular mechanic wasn't the part I heard critiqued. Maybe it's a good mechanic that was just in a (subjectively) bad game.

@@cakelover699it’s an app called dreams on ps4 and ps5. Costs £33 or so, but if you have ps plus extra you can use it for free. Has a bunch of games on it, this demo is included.

Um...WOW! They even recreated the opening sequence of an actual Sonic game but made it playable. This looks like the Sonic game I've always wanted. Leave it to the fans to make something people actually want out of a franchise. Okay...now let's get some of these Dreams people to make an F-Zero, Starfox, and Shadow the Hedgehog game!

I hope this game can see a nice cel shade visual to itself to. The one thing that would help with the environment is some more sense of environmental depth. The concept is phenomenal. Would love to see this made into a Unity, Gadot, or Unreal Engine game. Sega your fans are majorly talented. Just give a few projects some moderate funding and put all these polished projects into a nice celebration collection

im not the type of guy to say "sega hire this team", but seriously, this is how sonic should control, this is the defentive sonic for me and a lot of people. I heared so many people says that their vision for the defentive contols for sonic will be a playable sonic cd intro. And this game actually does that while being challenging to control (which is how fast characters should be) its also not throwing you in the air like sonic utopia which is super annoying. Also, you actually need to think in real time about the level design and plan pathways. Sonic team should take LOTS of notes

I tried it and i honestly think it's one of the best fan games I've ever played!!! My only complaint is that the spider robots are quite annoying and i did fall out of bounds twice. But overall i love this game and i can't wait to play the full version!!! (Fan fact my Classic Sonic voice was heavily based on the OVA and this games Sonic VA)

Finally played it. Absolutely love it. What you did is what Sonic needs to be. Also I hope theres a way to properly archive this on PC. Sorry but I just dont particularly trust Sony to protect Dreams after the way they handled Littlebigplanet.
