The keynote address by Dr. Terence Robinson from Winter Apple School 2013 held on the campus of Blue Ridge Community College. Dr. Robinson's presentation is on how to plant and maintain the tall spindle apple orchard system.

I am from India and you taught me a lot thanku I will do what you said... My question is if we don't want to need that road for machines then how many more plants we can plant per acer. Mm

Basically you don’t want one row of trees to shade a different row of trees. NY state is almost 45 degrees latitude. Assuming the rows run east-west, at that latitude, an 11 foot high tree also casts an 11 wide shadow, which happens to be a nice row width to drive a tractor down.

NASIR MEHMOOD No. There are no highly dwarfing rootstocks available for prunus species. Current studies show various numbers of “v” based systems work best (quad-v, hex-v).
