It's patch notes time once again. Patch 1.05 for Tekken 8 is here & I did a full analysis of the notes on stream and then ran a poll to see how I should upload it to KZfaq. The people voted and said I should upload the whole thing here unedited so... I did! I understand not everyone prefers the long format though so even though I'll provide timestamps here so you can jump to whatever chapter interests you the most I'll also be doing a more condensed breakdown of some of the highlights of the patch later today so look forward to that as well if that's more your speed. If Lee's ws2,3 didn't knock the enemy so far away it would be really broken because then you could connect ws2,3 to b+2,4,3 and have a guaranteed combo even without heat (this already worked against bears where you didn't need to spend your heat to do the combo and just did b+2,4,3 after ws2,3). Edit: I don't think the buff to his heat burst is contrary to their intentions of nerfing the trackability of heat burst as it is only a buff to its range. It still gets beaten by power crush/sidestep.

For Asuka, the -9 to -12 was a typo. It originally was -12, but got buffed to -9.

1:59:50 The problem with making ws2,3 have less knock back on hit is that we get a TTT2 situation all over again. Translation: ws2,3 -> f4:1 becomes a thing, and we have proof that combining off of ws2,3 without a resource is busted. A message from a Lei main, Lee secondary player.

For the Hwoarang changes I had to react to actually Hwoarang mains. As for his d3,4 I could use ws4,4 easily to shut down all of his options. Perspective is very important.

Devil Jin is definitely worse than just eh lol. Already had the worst demon paw, he’s lacking good mids in general, range on his jab is trash, qudans tech being removed sucks.

The f2,3 buff for Shaheen honestly was needed. The follow up potential on that move didn't exist and being his 12f punish, it felt like you were giving away neutral to some characters

One thing I don’t think they flat out explained is that Jin can now easily parry most heat engagers into full combo.😉 No more raw heat against Jin.😜

1:59:52 that's bad idea, if they reduce WS2,3 distance on hit, you might other followup like b1,1 and it would be a full launcher without heat lmao Buffing HB hitbox is the better solution.

I looked at the timestamps, saw Paul had one of the biggest times, and I knew it was gonna be good LOL Yeah, FF4 being a normal hit launcher with chip and +2 (so I stop any counterplay with dickjab and while rising 4) is a bit unreasonable. I'm interested to see how much people will actually utilize it because it's VERY linear, should be able to step on reaction from distance. Having a heat launcher at i13 is pretty insane but will have limited application outside what it already does. Hammer of the gods being chargeable -- and I'm assuming another guardbreak in heat -- is probably the funniest thing I will see. Having followups on counterhit with a chargeable move is going to create a SUPER oppressive rushdown style that is odd given the keepout Paul can normally play with. On Cormorant step DF 2,1 I'm pretty sure it's going to bound like QCB 3, 2,1 does on CH if I'm interpreting correctly, so that -15 damage is not going to be an impact on field application. Deep Dive DF4 being buffed by 50% damage made his lowpokes way scarier. Deep Dive from sway is unreal. I agree, Paul was already good, just still felt dated. I've commented on your previous posts advocating for Paul, but even I see this as a bit much. I expect nerfs once his winrate skyrockets.

I main Victor, and I'm loving the changes, not the gonna lie. The nerfs along with the buffs to Iai have made him much more engaging to play in ALOT of ways. The new moves have added some sauce as well amd he doesn't feel nearly as braindead lol

I think Nina players inadvertently got a buff with the defensive changes, I could be wrong, not like hayashida step and SS1 cancels weren’t effective already, so improving SS abilities will improve her game and other technical characters I think. Nina players always find a way and yes I do think they are Niche type of players.

As a Hwoarang main, He’s the most hated character in tekken history and somewhat he deserves it. People complain about him only being good at high ranks but people still struggle with him in the lower ranks saying he has crazy plus frames. And you know what. Most of those crazy plus frames come from mostly highs which is all punishable. Your not gonna beat Hwoarang all the time but to sit here over and over and over again for the past 20 something years and not even try to adjust to him not having any defensive tools and putting pressure on him first and you don’t. Still getting caught with 1133 and 4444 Well that’s on you. I keep telling other Hwoarangs to constantly use mids more as well because he is one of the most linear and punishable characters in the game.

We have to work more now but it’s not like we using Leroy Steve or panda even zafina is launch punishable for a lot of her stances if familiar with it. I tried looking at Leroy and Steve in practice mode for 20 minutes and I’m like y’all deserve those wins 😂😂😂

Yeah this patch is trying to make the game less cheesy, likely from higher end complaints. Yes make the game easier for new players 🙄 Idk I loved the first meta, but with every patch there’s a new dom character and a new nerf. They do balance weird for T8. Just make things unbalanced that = fun. It’s a video game at the end of the day not grand finals

Hwo’s win rate online is like bottom 5, so obviously he’s overpowered and his best tools needed nerfing 😑 this is the devs giving in to pressure and crying from scrubs who are going to continue to lose to him anyway, and who probably won’t even be around for the long haul with this game. Bruh, are we downplaying Kazuya? 1,1,2 whiffing ON HIT, df1 inconscistent af, it always had consistent hitbox but they made it whiff a lot on combos for some reason, b2, 1 extremely risk to use as a punish due to scrubby ass hitbox, more than half of the moveset while Devil is just plain useless, what are you smoking? Kazuya more than deserve some fixes, i don't agree about Patricide Fist getting that huge buff, but c'mon bro it sounds like you don't have a clue in what are you talking about

You people are insane. Feng, Dragunov, Reina, King, Eddy, Lars, Law, Jin, Nina, Alisa, Xiaoyu, Lili, Shaheen, Victor, King are 15 off top that were UNQUESTIONABLY better than Hwoarang last patch. Then THIS patch? Add in Jun, Yoshimitsu, Paul, probably Steve, even the Bears at this point. Kazuya too. You people let your hatred for Hwoarang completely blind your judgement and swear up and down that just because I play the character that I don't try to look at things with any sort of objectivity and that I'm just talking out of my ass. Meanwhile the BEST HWOARANG PLAYERS IN THE WORLD are not winning tournaments and some are even considering dropping the character lol. Okay man. Yeah. Mid tier character got nerfed and characters who were already better than him got buffed or stayed the same and weaker characters ALSO got buffed, but he's top 13. Give me a break.
