Its complicated to get a console this size since there are people who dont care about how big the x is. And making two consoles is a problem to developers. Microsoft got the cloud and i think the cloud is the "console" for who wants the portability, since you will need only the most basic things: controler, smartv and internet. Honestly i dont like much the series s.. a series x with no disc could definetly lose some weight. The s is a mistake in my opinion.

This is a great point. I have packed the Series S twice in my luggage on a plane. No way I do that with a bigger console.

@@darrensanders653 I'm 41 I own all the systems. I just don't believe that gaming needs to be treated like life or death politics. These companies are about profits, it's what all companies do. Sometimes it's not consumer friendly and nobody enjoys that. But I game to enjoy it just like I did as a kid. I've tried the cynicism mode before and nothing comes out of it, you yourself just suffer and you leave no room for any progress. So yeah I enjoy the experience on Xbox, also on PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Switch and Series S are portable which is important to me since I travel so much. Video Games are a form of entertainment, it's supposed to be enjoyed like any entertainment media and any art. I don't want to view it in cynical serious way like politics. @@darrensanders653 You don’t have to be online to play your games on Xbox. Yes that was a terrible terrible idea at the time, during the Xbox launch. And left a bad taste in all of our mouths but they backpedaled from it. Now it’s the same as on Nintendo Switch, that you don’t have to be online on your primary system. I still don’t like that when you own all the systems and it’s your account and nobody else is using your systems. I understand why they do it, but there should be a way around it when you’re the sole owner and user. You don’t have that problem with physical games. And I don’t know if I can still install my copy of Evolve on PlayStation or Xbox if I wanna play against bots because the servers are down and the game isn’t visible on either store but I have the discs. If you bought that game digitally then it’s like you no longer own it if didn’t keep it on your hard drive. Yeah I agree there are many problems with modern gaming. I like to collect physical copies on Switch but sadly the full games aren’t always on the cartridge. And it’s sad that emulation is what preserves older games. There are a lot of issues that frustrate me too of course. But I feel Xbox is doing things better when it comes to older games and backwards compatibility. And those older games are constantly on sale. I got Fallout 3 for 5€ and it’s upscaled natively to 1440p 60fps on Series S and 4k 60fps on Series X. That’s why I like Xbox atm. But I’ve also criticized Microsoft all the way back starting in the 90s. And my initial feeling about Microsoft doing a console was not good back then but I caved because of Halo lol. I think a little differently now. The world is like GTA, but worse even. GTA is supposed to be a parody of our world and an exaggeration but it’s not really. I take politics very seriously but I also know that the world is often run by crooks who gaslight the public. But there is a way to also kinda let go and enjoy what we have. We of course have to hold these companies accountable because they won’t do it by themselves, they would only get more greedy given the chance, same with our government officials. But at the same time life is short and I think it’s also meant to be enjoyed and it’s a bit of a game. This entire planet will be destroyed by our sun ☀️ one day. Could even be that all of human history will be erased eventually. (And all life on this planet). So why even bother achieving anything? I dunno, maybe that’s why it’s important for us to just enjoy gaming and enjoy life. Even with these big greedy corporations, there are still regular human beings working there too. Not all at Microsoft have these bad intentions individually. Corporations are so big that they’re sort of almost out of control. And in the end I just want life to be simple, it’s fun playing Street Fighter 6 right now. I don’t have to buy all the accessories if I don’t want to. I can just play, the stuff you unlock in game is pretty much the best gear anyway. I don’t know how to wrap this message up now. But take care and have a good day ✌️

There have been talks of a proprietary disk reader for the S like Sony is doing for the digital PS5 slim. It would be nice but it would take Series X sales away probably.

If you are really wanting to get into 4K gaming or have a problem going all digital then get the X. I have both and honestly if this model was available earlier this year then I wouldn’t have gotten my Series X. I play on a 1440p monitor and am all digital even on the Series X. The difference in graphics is honestly marginal and not enough to warrant the $150 price difference.

I can’t get anything to record properly using the elgato so I couldn’t ever stream and I just gave up hope. So I sold my pc because it was 1800 and I bought a monitor and everything else . But my wife wants to play games with me on gamepass. Redfall was one of them . And now I have 0 money to spend on a pc. But I was thinking getting a series s and a monitor just to start off again and then eventually upgrading her to a pc .

Its not for me. I find it tedious. tbh I never have enjoyed those style of games.

They just need to allow use of an external disc player. I don't like the fact the S is not the same spec as the X nor the talk of a discless X coming in 2025. the specs don't have to be exactly identical I would be ok if the S was 1080p instead of 4K even 720p but it needs to be running close enough to the X the games don't lose much outside of graphics. Take away the disc player, drop the resolution etc just cheaper
