Trying to catch up... The other day you said "this is a Nintendo channel". Since then you've mostly only talked about the deck. What's up?

I'm really wanting a deck due to recently becoming a father, coupled with Xbox's announcement to up the Gamepass fee. My big stopper is how much I've already invested in these consoles already with sunk sub costs and stuff. I bought a PS5 last year with 1 year of PS Plus and barely touched it, Spiderman 2 sucked me in :( I regret not just buying a deck and going the way of mobility over performance and sticking with my Xbox for anything else. This is the big issue with digital purchases! Nice and convenient but now I feel invested, wish cross progression existed on more games.

You kept your PS5, why not just use Chiaki and play those games on your deck powered by the PS5?

Love the passion you have for your family and dedication to spending time with them. It's really commendable, and you should be a proud daddy. I'm a father, and it really has changed me for the better. I'm also a new deck daddy after selling some games for the switch I don't use or even touched. Got a great price for some and used that to fund for an OLED Steam Deck. The next step is to sell on the PS5, which has sat still for so long wasting away. It's a great console, but time is limited. I've learned that I can wait on their titles coming to pc n hopefully run fine on the deck. I have been invested in the xbox ecosystem for a few years, but it's been overwhelming with the amount on game pass. There is not enough time to play all the titles coming to the service before some leave. If the deck continues to amaze, I'll trade in the series console. I'm so happy picking up the OLED, and it blows my mind that I can play Elden Ring anywhere I want without being hooked up to a power socket. I have been listening to your advice about family life and being present. The deck is helping me with the juggling of fatherhood and responsibilities. Massive thank you for making these videos, been real, and advising people on focusing more on family while enjoying our hobby of gaming.

As someone who has never been a PC Gamer and only play AA / AAA single player games on my PS5, I'm nervous about making this type of switch. That being said, as a once a week type gamer now (based on the whole PS5 stuck in office / needing to be locked away in order to play it) / husband / soon to be father this is a very intriguing idea. Has anyone made this switch with a similar single player action / adventure game preference (Ghost of Tsushima, new God of Wars, LOU, Days Gone, Jedi Survivor, Uncharted, etc)? Feel like most are available on Steam or at least some but maybe they don't run the best or require tinkering which I may not be familiar with / want to waste time doing.

The Steam Deck immediately became my main as soon as I got it two years ago. My PS5 and especially my Series X just don’t really get used. My Switch gets used for Nintendo exclusives I’m interested in. Typically becomes my go to for the two to three weeks on average it takes for me to enjoy the new Mario RPG, or awesome new Mario platformer. Other than that, I don’t really use that either anymore. The Steam Deck does enough for me in terms of performance for the type of gaming I do. I DON’T play online focused games. I actually dislike that side of gaming quite passionately. So, the limitations on that side of the coin just don’t matter to me.

I had a similar experience as you when I first got my Steam Deck. I got mine for Christmas in 2022 with no Steam library. I love handhelds, but I didn't feel like buying games on there made a ton of sense also having a PS5 and Series X, so it mostly sat unused and I almost sold it several times. But last week I finally got a gaming PC as a little 40th birthday gift to myself, and it's made the Steam Deck a game changer finally. I hooked my gaming PC up to my main 65" television and set it up where it launches straight into Steam Big Picture Mode and it feels like a console, except it performs so ridiculous. Going forward, I'll only be buying games on Steam unless it's a PS5 exclusive I don't wanna wait to come to PC or a Nintendo game. I'm gonna sell my Series X.

My situation is different I bought a ps5 and portal because I’m always home. There hasn’t been a time I’ve been on vacation or away from home without my kids and or wife that I’ve ever needed or wanted to play video games. The only reason that I could see for myself needing or wanting a steam deck is if I changed work and traveled and stayed overnight at hotels. But hey everybody’s use case is different… There has never been a vacation, or trip, or he,& even a car ride where I’ve even had time to pull out a video game system.

I've been a Deck Daddy since 2022. I've LOVED the device since getting it. I'm currently working my way through several games on there, including my first ever playthrough of Kingdom Hearts, which I ended up getting specifically because of the enthusiasm of your discord community.

I've somehow managed to put 30 hours into KH1 on deck and that is only due to it being portable. I've sat down at my desk for my pc maybe 10 times over the past couple weeks and that was mostly for a short period. The deck has allowed me to squeeze more game time due to me being able to pick it up and put it down quickly. The sleep function on the deck is a lifesaver for me

Guys I recommend buying a sandisk ultra fit 512gb, if you want 1tb, buy two, this thing runs all my x|s games and it’s only $50 for 512gb, I would recommend waiting for its discount if you are on budget.

I have a 25inch monitor that is 1080p and runs 120htz. My monitor also has game mode and a response rate of fast and faster. But when I put it in faster I seem to have like a blue light around players when playing call of duty. I’m confused on what to do

I’ve been wanting to get into gaming for years, but if I did it I was thinking I’d do pc. However, PCs are missing a lot of the benefits of a console. A Steam Deck is not as good as a good PC. A Steam Deck is not as good as a good console. Moreover, it manages to give both the benefits albeit a bit worse than either one.

Build a PC and learn to troubleshoot. By the time your child is good at it, he already has marketable skills by age of 10. He can be an IT guy at a nearby law office on the summer when he turns 18 rather than sell consoles at Gamestop.

I just bought an sn30 pro, because I wanted a super Nintendo style controller shape that can work on my PC, Switch, and Phone. I found that I did not like the dpad on mine. It had a little to much roll and I was pressing inputs I didn't want. I ended up taking it apart and doing the same fix I did on my switch pro controller. I took tiny squares of electrical tape and put them on the contacts diagonally to help prevent in unintended clicks. Although, I used the same fix as the Nintendo pro controller, I do think the sn30 had the better dpad just was a little bit to sensitive for me. I also think I used a bit to much tape on the top contact because sometimes now, clicking up on the dpad wont register unless I click it harder than normal. I am to lazy to take the controller back apart rn, so I will just live with it for now. Hope that the tape will ware out a bit, might fix it. Edit: I also don't like the analog sticks on the sn30 as I feel they do not have enough grip. A little bit of sweat or grease and my thumbs slip right off. And I don't often play games without washing my hands first to get them dry. but I bought the controller for the snes feel and convenience having thumbsticks is just bonus.
