My son says BTS is not a boy band, but a MOVEMENT. As such it comes from our heart.

I don't think any group today will ever be better than BTS because it's not just their talents that makes them great it's their personalities and their honest love and respect for each other and lack of jealousy of each other and there love and support for their army and fans

BTS isn't my first kpop group that I stan. Shinee is the first group that got me into kpop and after sometimes I got interested of EXO, and mostly listen to SM artists here and there but in 2014, literally after I watched War of Hormone MV, I fall hard into BTS music and since then I didn't feel the desire to explore other group simply because BTS keep giving me songs that I love. I do listen to some other artist songs and like it but never in my whole life I like other artists as much as I love BTS to the point I do question myself what makes BTS different and here Boracity gives me the answers.

In my 62 years of age BTS is the only kpop group that interest me bcoz of firstly , their humble beginnings and secondly their songwriting and lyriscsm. Love their interactions, so genuine and honest.

I am a 67 year old proud Army and I started in 2015 . Love their music and I admire them so much.💜👍😊

I also think another reason they are going so far is because they have a connection with their fans. More than any artist I’ve ever seen. Army are loyal because Bts are loyal.

Because BTS are genuinely great artist, they can produce great music that is heartfelt, fun, sexy, and relatable. They are 7 individual artist, that have proven that they can ALL hold their own. I was first introduced to KPOP by BTS and I was really attached to them till now. I did try other group's songs, I like some of their songs but not attached to the group. I'm a person who gets bored easily if it isn't interesting. One thing I look at in music is that it should be meaningful or relatable. But most of the groups just try to rhyme their songs even though it's full of nonsense lyrics. It's good to hear but it easily gets boring. I'm an ARMY and also give a chance to other groups but as u said the gap between them is too huge. The fandoms and the company should stop focusing on breaking BTS achievements and try to become the next BTS. Instead they should make their own achievements. They should be known for their music, passion and talent not as next BTS

I wonder how many new Kpop groups write their own songs. I agree that part of BTS’s popularity, is that they sing about life experiences. Only the seven of them know everything they went through. Also, there is no jealousy between them. No one thinks they’re better than the others. Their genuine love for each other really sets them apart.

The reason BTS has the success they have is because of how they connected with their fans on their daily YT logs, when social media was just in its infancy; their reality shows just gave ARMY a chance to see the members as regular people, thus becoming even more connected; BTS gives so much love and appreciation to ARMY, they thank ARMY first when they win the awards. Totally agree with this review. I'm 74, lived thru all the music giants and went to lots of concerts. It burns me up that the American music industry keeps trying to ignore BTS as the best unless they hand over some pay to play. Sorry but that's my opionion. The last Grannies killed me with voters saying the Yet To Come mv was not the winner. How can music artists not appreciate the musical talent and the meaning of dealing with your journey and future as artist. And don't get me started on hip hop. Sure honoring the artists is wonderful and right. But remember RM,Jhope, Suga? The Grammy missed an opportunity to showcase how rap and hip hop created world wide interest. been an army (I'm Asian) for 7 years. I'm not into kpop. I'm only into BTS. imo, BTS is so loved by many because BTS is literally a part of our everyday lives. I found BTS during my depression, and their songs helped me to step foot out of my room. I also met many army at concert venues who found BTS during their difficult time. I did listen to some kpop songs before I became army but they just didn't leave any impact (at least for me).

I just want to put it out there.. that it was really a heartfelt sincerity, appreciativeness, being considerate of the BTS members for the ARMYs who watched their concerts because they wanted to give their all to every performances even though they're so exhausted and can't breath anymore.. knowing that Armys waited for days outside to see them. The support and love are soooo huge both ways. BTS❤💜ARMY, ARMY❤💜BTS

In my opinion, BTS is a unique, special, humble, talented and funny group 1. Unique because they have their own differences and characteristics in face, voice and personality. 2. special because you went from being a nobody to a legend. they are sincere and grateful to the army who has faithfully accompanied them since 0, and the army is sincerely grateful to BTS for fighting and surviving until now. remember at one of the events in 2018 RM said (a song will be meaningful if someone listens to it, just like a book will be meaningful if someone reads it) that's how ARMY views BTS. 3. humble because he is very close to fans and sincere as he is. 4. Each individual has their own talents but if put together they will produce extraordinary work, this is the first time I have found a group where almost all the songs are very pleasant to listen to and meaningful. 5. During my time in K-pop Gen 2 after Super Junior, BTS was a cute and cheerful group, they were not afraid to express their joy at every event. no one is as cheerful and funny as them

I totally agree! Yes, it's the music - BTS had a hand in their music all the time - it had to pass what nessage they wanted to convey and their sincere feelings. Even in their solo music, they chose what music that would suit them in style and message. Also, yes, the fans can see the sincerity they have for each other and it reflects in their performances and shows, That is very important as well. They are not just a group but a family.

What differenciates BTS from many other singers or groups is they are true artists. They are a serendipitous event of creation. And sadly few artists want to work as hard as the boys have.

It's quite obvious why there will never be another BTS... it's the same reason why there was never another Beatles or another Elvis or another Michael Jackson. It's not one thing that makes these artists the superstars that they become. It's a number of factors but the number 1 priority has to be the music, which is why other kpop groups are not able to get the results. BTS sound is very distinctive to them and I would not describe it as kpop and I don't think even in Korea they would consider their music kpop. Kpop relies too heavily on hooks and not enough attention is paid to the quality of the lyrics and melody to create a full well rounded song. Most kpop songs sound more like onomatopoeia to music rather than an actual song and they have fans who absolutely love that, but it's not the type of music that BTS produces. But another aspect of BTS that is constantly overlooked is their chemistry, personalities, and outstanding performance. Bang Si Hyuk struck gold with the 7 he put together and trying to recreate that dynamic is like trying to win the lottery twice. Simon Cowell tried to recreate it but people want more now than people stand there and sing. But another aspect is try and find kids in the "West" who would be willing to put in the work long term, train for years before ever releasing a song, or a label to invest so heavily before releasing a band is never going to happen. They want results fast, and Bang Si Hyuk has shown you invest in the kids ,give them time to bloom ,the stars align and then you get a once in a lifetime band.

Thank you for this reaction. What made me a fan of BTS aside from their music is their personality and story. I also tried watching other groups before but I always stop halfway because it kinda feel like something is missing and it really doesn't make me wanna stick to them compared to when I'm starting to know BTS. I watched them grew from being a nobody and being looked down upon until they became a group nobody can treat carelessly and poorly. So I thought maybe I just don't empathize with them enough or something? So I was obsessed watching talent/survival shows at some point where trainees compete for top ranks to debut thinking that maybe I'll enjoy another kpop group as well. In end, still didn't work. I was only driven by curiousity at beginning but got bored overtime. That's the time I realized I'm not really into kpop but because it's BTS.

Their rediculous horseplay at any given moment. The wide array of combinations of interpersonal interactions. The comraderie and complete devotion to eachother. Being seen without makeup and perfect hair making them more relatable and less like untouchable superstars. They write letters, create self created content like dancing videos. Being on V Live to talk with us at any given time. Millions of Army stop what their doing instantly when they are notified that bts is online. (Within a single minute there are already over a million viewers.) Add their unique looks and talents. Their music is so amazing and organic. A lot is produced by the group itself. This is huge. The talent is out of this world. Mix all that up and you have the formula for bts. All that and a heap more are reasons for the sheer size of Army. What is it that I didn't consider above? Awards. Prestige. Worth. These are not what draw Army. Sure its cool that we get to see them achiev their dreams. Bts is who they are because they have treated us like family. Made us feel close to them and make us want to help bear their burdens and hardships. They provide us with such an authentic experience that can never be duplicated again. It's not that their format can't be duplicated it is that BTS already forged the path. Its permanently paved with their stones. There can never be a new bts ever again. Its a universal law or something lol. When BTS fades away it will make room for someone else to forge a new path. There is only room for one group like this to exist in our lifetimes. Sorry dudes. I was introduced to "kpop" through BTS, but like many, I tried to listen to other groups. I ran into the same issue I have with western music, there are plenty of "bops" churning out of the music industry but not a lot of songs with real substance and true, authentic craftsmanship. I can't tell you how many hours of footage I've watched of BTS members, (RM and Suga predominantly) literally sitting down with ARMY via lives and Bangtan Bombs and going over the process of how they made a song, or how they constructed an album. RM talking about why he chose the lyrics he did or why he changed certain parts because the wording didn't flow right, (I Need You is a Prime example changing freind to girl because friend sounded to awkward as part of the chorus). That is something I never experienced, or at least very rarely experienced, with other loop groups and western music. When you said that BTS have left a legacy, I heard the refrain from Mic Drop. She was on point the entire time, and so were you. One of the biggest take aways for me is that artists need to be creating something new, that hasn’t been heard beforehand. Don’t do the copy and paste from BTS songs and themes. Your audience has intelligence and will quickly ascertain who you ripped your ideas from. Wow! Eventhough I was not introduced to KPop with BTS, it was BTS who made me like KPop in the first place. Believe or not, it wasn’t their music that got my attention in the beginning... it was their personalities, V’s personality to be specific! I saw a fan edit video of VKook moments and I fell inlove with V in an instant, that’s why I looked for other videos of him and came across BTS’ Danger dance practice and I got sucked into the BTS rabbit hole in the blink of an eye! Now having seen that amazingly perfect dance practice, I started watching their live performance and was blown away by how they sing live as perfect as the studio record while dancing one of the most hardest and longest choreography I have ever seen! Hence, my standard for music and performance and for the artists themselves was set so high by BTS that until now... there’s no other artists could ever reach hence the reality that the main reason I’m not impressed when I watch other artists (KPop group in particular) compared to watching BTS was not because they’re not good... they’re actually great in my opinion but just not in the level of BTS . Now, I do like TXT, Enhypen and &Team so much compared to other 4th and/or 5th generation KPop groups coz for me they’re professionalism, personalities, demeanor, talent and artistry was in line or influenced by BTS because the people that evaluated, councelled, trains and guides them are the same people who were with BTS right from the start. In conclusion, I think they caught my attention, interest and affection before they even debuted was because they are BTS’ juniors in Big Hit (TXT) and HYBE (Enhypen and &Team) plus the fact that they also look-up and respect BTS and recognize BTS’ great contribution to the success and popularity of KPop and anything Korean (with respect to other Korean celebrities of course, specifically KDramas/Series)... and that BTS paved the way for other KPop artists to become famous globally. I agree. The only ones that I have enjoyed are not Kpop as such. The Rose is great, original, talented, and a real musical band that play their own instruments, write their own songs with their own original messages, very well. The Rose does not try to copy or look like BTS. They are in a different lane completely, and I think they are amazing. Another group is Forestella, who are completely different again, and they are talented lovely men who do their own thing.
