@@DJohnson899 Many of their opponents have a similar situation…don’t dismiss loose, non-playoff teams playing spoiler/for their jobs, etc.. * Bigger priorities will likely unfold, depending upon many factors, with the focus being as healthy & ready for the post season as possible. Closing the schedule with 6 games in 9 days, may dictate jockying for 1st place, a secondary precedence. 🇨🇦

honestly, it’s not even the draft positioning that pisses me off with the senators winning right now. it’s the fact that they’re winning at the most useless time in their season. they’ve done this for years and i personally believe there’s no use being optimistic with this team when they choose to play like a good team when the hope for prosperity was lost before new years. but i truly hope that they’ll change my perspective on them soon. never tired of this content

Don't feel too bad about it. The canucks started doing the same thing last year and all the tank canuck fans were whining and complaining about it like the morons they are, but winning games and establishing some stability under Tocchet was essential to becoming the team they are now. Any time your team starts winning, so long as it's with structure and discipline, it's a good thing.

@@doublestrokeroll i don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing. it’s the fact that they’ve pushed a standard of competing for a playoff spot for years and can’t win 40 games in a season. not to mention, it’s not a certain narrative, to my knowledge at least, that jacques martin will be the coach next season. they had dj smith and won late in the season and never built on it the next season multiple times. i’d love to see us be like the nucks, but i haven’t seen any change to this team’s performance for years and it’s really tough trying to be optimistic

New hockey fan here, and i just wanted to say how helpful your channel is! It's making me feel way less lost than I was when I watched my first game 😅 i especially love these recaps. Super helpful when you're not in the same timezone as the nhl and can't really watch that many games during the week. Also I'm obsessed with all your nicknames for the teams, like the chicago bedards and the las vegas injury reserves lol. Love it. Anyway, thank you for another video!

Thank you SO much for these. This is my new favorite channel. Honestly, I just started getting into hockey a few months ago. Have been watching every bruins game and first got to know all of their players and history. I wanted to learn more about the league and the season and watched all of these videos in a row. What an awesome way to learn and catch up on everything around the NHL. Thank you, I set up alerts to watch all of your new videos when they drop. This has become to me what sports center was 20 years ago. Must watch TV for a sports/hockey fan

As a long time Caps fan i am simply mystified at what they are accomplishing. All the underlying stats say that they are a bottom 10 team in the league, and rightfully so as they have sold and are rebuilding with a bunch of young players getting their first taste in the league. But they are coming together and finding ways to win hockey games. Taking the bruins to a shootout in a tight well played hockey game was great to see. They might be mid right now but i think they have a bright future as this team is being led by its young emerging stars

Spot on on the emerging stars. Loving McMichael, Lapierre, Milano and Aube Kubel. Miroshnishenko is also going to florish under Ovi for a couple more seasons.

Realistically we should have won the bruins game as I was there and my entire section was complaining about not winning in OT and rightfully so, as we had a power play the entire time and should have won but oh well

The Washington Capitals may be the worst team in NHL history to make the playoffs?!? LOL - someone didn't watch the Norris (Snore-is) Division in the 1980s methinks... Many teams with sub .400 winning pct made it. The worst team to make the playoffs IMHO were the 1987-88 Toronto Maple Leafs. They had a .325 winning pct (52 points in the standings) and a goal diff of -72 That same season: NJD .513 pct and -1 - Missed the playoffs NYR .513 pct and +17 - missed the playoffs PIT .506 pct and +3 - missed the playoffs Note: no points awarded for OT losses in that era, so a .513 or a .506 season was very respectable.

Fab summary as always. Could you please do a vid on Pinto, his performance this season after coming back from suspension and how this may affect his upcoming contract negotiations? I've found myself rooting for the Sens this year and their young but capable core. I believe they're only going to get better if they retain the talent.

I mean the only reason hymans career is where it is, is because of his family wealth, they bought teams for him to play on. Doesn’t take away from the fact he actually worked with the opportunity he was given and is probably one of the hardest workers in the nhl… but if he didn’t have that opp he wasn’t good enough when younger to be anything to pay attention to

His other linemate (former 100pt player last year) Nuge had to sit out his entire 15yo junior season because his parents could not afford it. 3 years later he was drafted 1st overall. Doesn’t matter what level of opportunity they both equally worked & dedicated themselves to their craft to become heart & soul players for their team.

laffy is 18th in the NHL at even strength goals at 24 this year which puts him ahead of players like jt miller, brady tkachuk, kirill kaorizov, connor mcdavid, sam reinhart and many many more big time NHL stars at his age 22 season crazy to call him a bust just because he is starting to bloom after a few seasons initial seasons in the NHL were a bit rocky

It’s why I appreciate Hockey Psychology, he has actually talked about them. Hard to say why the Stars seem to be the black sheep of the nhl when they’ll talk about the other southern markets plenty.

As a Stars fan myself, I’ve often wondered the same thing. There’s only about eight players on that team that can wreck the other team’s night on any given day. The other team doesn’t know who to prepare for because it could be Johnston, Benn, Duchene, Marchment, Robertson, Pavelski, Seguin, Ottenger, Heiskanen (I know I’m misspelling a few of these), Hintz or even Hakenpaa who can ruin the other team’s night. Just an obscene amount of depth on that team. The only stat that concerns me at this point is the nine overtime losses. How do you not finish with a team like this? But then again, Boston has a whopping 15 in the same category. 🤷‍♂️
