As frustrated as I am with the inconsistency of the reffing this post-season, especially in this Vancouver x Edmonton series, these teams are giving it everything and it's been the most thrilling hockey I've seen since the Vancouver finals run in 2011. No matter how this series turns out I'll remember it forever, just some incredible playoff hockey from both sides with a ton of great narratives paying off.

I swear to Christ the canucks are the "bad guy" of the series and Everyone wrote them off AND they are fighting all the adversity in the world and are still coming on top somehow.... perhaps coilers just aren't a complete team... very showy like Toronto is- perfect for the regular season. Anyway even in the book making the canucks odds are so low that being ON them would net you more winnings then usual.

Yeah y'all were underestimated because you let Nashville take you to 6, shit if it weren't for the miracle comeback they'd have been down 3-2 in that series. Oh god- I felt for that kid. I was 12 when I discovered hockey. My family was moving from Alaska to Alabama (dad in the military) in 1994. Every hotel in Canada had the games on! My younger brother and I became Canucks fans. By the time we got to Alabama, it was game seven of the Stanley cup finals and the rangers won. I remember that sick feeling, I wanted to cry, my younger brother was still young enough and did legit cry…. 30 years later and I can tell you it never gets any better unfortunately. I’m super excited that the Canucks are back in the playoffs this season. I hope your team wins a cup in the future kiddo!

Dude! Same here, I was 12 watching the Canucks in 94 and fell in love with my team and experienced absolute heartbreak when they lost game 7 to the rangers that year. That year was so memorable for so many reasons, and I remember turning on the radio to listen to games any chance I got. My grade 7 friends and I even huddled in one of our teacher’s cars on a school field trip just to listen to a game (we were in the middle of a camping trip).

For the kid Crying.... I have been a die hard ranger fan since I am 5 years old. To this day I bleed blue! I know this feeling. I know that when I went to my first hockey game it started an obsession with an original 6 team that rarely ever made the playoffs, or when they did they were taken out. From 1981 to 1994 I watched my team year after year fail to win the cup. It was heartbreaking. Since 1994 its been a very long road back to the playoffs and the cup. I have these feelings every year. (Except for last year when my new team the VGK won the cup). Its been 30 years since the Rangers have won a cup. I truly hope it is their year. When this came on the TV last night after Chris Kreider scored the 2nd of his 3 goals in the 3rd period, It brought tears to my eyes because I know that feeling. I have lived it for many many years of my life. It hardens you, it changes you, and it give you a deep respect for what these guys go through every night! Don't be embarrassed young man, don't let the people on the internet get to you. You keep on crying, you keep on showing the love you have for your team. You keep on being the guy that carries the weight of the pride of your team proudly!! #keepyourheadup #beproud #NHLFans #NHL #carolinahurricanes #newyorkrangers #hockeyfans #theheartbreak #thecellies

Well stated. Mine was 1978-79 until the Messiah arrived to provide long-suffering Ranger fans of 54 years deliverance when he lifted Lord Stanley's chalice at the Garden on June 14, 1994. For the pain and frustration endured, and the many tears shed, that one magical moment made going through all of that worth it. To this day, it is precious, never to be taken for granted and we know there is no guarantee we will ever see it again. Which is why we are grateful for what this season has meant to Blueshirts fans not only in the tri-state area, but to the Ranger-nation throughout this country and world! This Ranger fan signing out from Phoenix, AZ.

That penalty on Elias Pettersson is literally one of the worse calls I've seen in my 45 years of watching hockey. That just proves that refs are calling things absolutely blind and without actually seeing what happened. Or they feel the need for making a call and just call the first body they see go down. I don't know. I can NOT make sense of that. I am not a fan of either of these teams. I couldn't care less who wins this series. I'm totally unbiased. But this penalty call is completely disgraceful. This is ANGEL HERNANDEZ level ineptitude if not worse! I'm disgusted. Thank goodness VAN won that game and that call wasn't a big factor in a loss. The Canes goalie was not playing at playoff levels, and only won when the team kept quality NY shots at a minimum. You didn't show that crazy dive before the tying powerplay goal, though. That was shocking to watch and probably deserves to be shown. The way late response to the hit was embarrassing and should not be encouraged in hockey. Would the game have gone differently? Perhaps, perhaps not. Anderson finds a way to let bad ones in regardless.

The thing is though, the canes style of play gives the illusion of outplaying their opponent. But the canes had 13:36 more minutes of offensive zone time and 67 more shots than the rangers, and still had just about the same slot shots and expected goals as the rangers. The canes style is trying to suffocate with offense and pepper goalies with low danger low % shots. I’m sorry but going 2/21 on the powerplay while giving up 2 SHG, blowing two 2 goal leads in 2 games and and getting heavily outmatched on special teams and goaltending, it’s hard to sit there and say “yea the canes outplayed the rangers the majority of that series”

There’s a reason it’s only ever been done four times. Off the top of my head, the Leafs did it in the final against the Red Wings in like 42 or smth, I think the Pens did it in like the 70s? And more recently, the Flyers in 2010 and the Kings in 2014. Half of those teams went on to win the cup that year - the Leafs, obviously, since they did it IN the final, and the Kings in 2014 - and while I’m not sure what happened with the one from the 70s I do know that the Flyers went to the final in 2010. It’s extremely hard to do. And only the absolute best of the best can pull it off. Even if a team is known for choking it’s still incredibly difficult to blow a 3-0 series lead.

Man I feel terrible for that poor kid. I know that feeling well. Not only was he devastated last night, now he’s become a meme. It would be cool if the Canes could find him and throw him some autographs or tickets or something. I know he wasn’t the only fan who was upset, but man that’s rough to see. Go Rangers!

Here in NYC the hosts on two radio stations, ESPN and WFAN, are barely human. They say that the kid to whom Chris Kreider gave his stick, as a Carolina fan, should have returned it, or the parents should have said No thanks. Can you believe it? These hosts are fanboy robots missing any heart. Such a sweet innocent gesture by Kreider gets this kind of response on the sports radio stations. These hosts just got cut down to crappy sizes in my eyes.

Carolina playing hyper aggressive on the penalty kill leaving kreider wide open in front of the net just shows that you have to adapt to the team you're playing against if you want to win a series. Their penalty kill was elite in the regular season but that method clearly wasnt the way to go against the rangers

God, I love hockey. Carolina fought for their lives in game 6, was a fantastic game for the Canes, even harder comeback for the Rangers. Huge Respect to both teams, Hurricanes once again proving their "Never say die" Attitude, can't wait for em next season. Meanwhile, CANUCKS TAKE GAME 5!!! Now I'll keep saying this, I'm a Toronto guy turned Canucks enjoyer, but I could take either Canucks or Oilers moving to the west finals. At the end of the day, it's about bringing the cup home, back North of the border, THE WHOLE COUNTRY needs it, bad. Doesn't matter if you're a Leafs fan, Sens, Habs, or Jets too. These Canucks an Oilers are laying it ALL on the line to go ahead, and I'm having a blast. While I'm hoping my boys in Blue 'n Green can wrap it up tomorrow as an early birthday wish, I could take the Oilers moving on as well. Wishing these Canadian teams the best, BRING IT HOME, BOYS!!! Dallas and Colorado I haven't been watching, nor Boston V Florida, but I'll watch those games tonight, Mainly because I wanna see Bruins and the Panthers go to WAR again like game 2, lmfao. Overall, good Hockey all around. this has got me amped up, Only things I'm missing is my San Jose sharks or Detroit Red Wings and the Playoffs for me would be PERFECT. On the contrary, What a shock it would be, that this new Utah team makes the Playoffs next season? Yeah, no idea who's playing for em, but would be crazy. Alrighty, enough of my Yapping, XD. GO CANUCKS GO!!!

This Edmonton v nuck game has my heart, head and soul hurting. Everytime a team wins it's a steal and you can point out at LEAST two or three puck luck goals going in on Edmonton and one or two going in on the nucks. I'm an Edmonton fan, I honeslty I felt like we needed that win last night to knock out the nucks. Praying Edmonton can level their head and handle Vancouver siting up their play from passive to aggressive.

I don't know.. I'm a Canucks fan and feel like you guys are going to come out HARD tomorrow. Regardless, it's been a great series. I love our rivalry and either way a Canadian team wins so I just hold on to that. I would dearly love my Canucks to close it-- no one thought we'd get this far and I want to see them run with it. Draisaitl though. UGH. I hate how good he is :) I get anxious every time he or Hyman are on the ice.

@@SilverityI'm not really a fan of either but I'm rooting for the Oilers in this series. I'll be honest, Vancouver has this series. Whoever won last night's game wins the series. This has been a game for game series, nux winn one oil wins one then nux then oil then nux then oil. Edmonton might win I wouldn't be shocked tommorow but they'll lose in 7 of put money on it. Either way I'm rooting for a Canadian team to win the cup so at least it's a garentee one Canadian team gets to go to the conference finals. This series has been wild, one of the best series I've seen in a long time, and action packed hockey, not one boring game or even a boring shift. Nailbiter games from start to finish.

@@Silverity we'll probably come out hard tomorow but if we keep going 1 for 1 as we have, the team with the first win is likely to win. Loved how the nucks played last night tho, some damn good hockey

One of the more satisfying playoffs so far with depth scoring and 4th line prowess. Seeing that crucial effort from non stars and players with less hype make it a more memorable storyline. Huge upsets with Carolina, Colorado, and to a lesser extent Boston who seemed to be rolling with success.

I see that you're retroactively adjusting the titles so kudos for that, but that's why a lot of us suggested having proper titles in the first place. Good recap of the series last couple days, breakdowns within them are always the best part. It'd be cool if you expanded the video range a bit so it covers 2 games within 1 series in one video, so you can analyze how momentum changes game to game.
