I can’t even do a nine minute drive these days without travelling outside my restricted area, and I am only 1-1/2 hours from Glencoe , I will count my blessings once these restrictions are over.

I hardly ever comment on KZfaq videos but you have very quickly become my favourite KZfaq photographer of any genre. Your images are fantastic but more than that I love your enthusiasm for the craft and your insightful perspective on the highs and lows of photography. I look forward to every one of your posts and hope your channel continues to grow to rival the most successful out there!

So happy to see this video; after watching the Glen Coe video. You are so right. It was the sun on the mountain that made that loch side photo so beautiful. I'm sorry the weather wasn't cooperative but you had a great walk in some fabulous scenery and got to see some red deer. Happy trails.

Fantastic videos Henry, love your passion and energy, a treat to watch. Stumbled across your Scottish videos, lovely to see your emotional bond to Scotland - a warm welcome home. Amsure alot of people will suggest locations for you, but the "road to the isles" and north of Kyle of Lochalsh, and most of Argyll would call to you. Off to find your photos!

Nice shots Henry. On the beach I would have been tempted to shoot across the shoreline and get that church. Not sure if the composition would have been there for that or not. The small island shot is one of my favorites. Nice job with that one. By the way, I don't think red would stick out to deer because hunters wear fluorescent orange and that doesn't seem to affect the deer much. It was probably just that they saw you and then noticed you getting closer to them, so they bolted. Looking forward to the next video.

No matter how much you know about wildlife photography, the most important rule is to try never disturb the animals and be respectful. Remember that when you see animals in the wild you are a visitor to their homes.

I don't think there was a need for this kind of comment. I think anyone with a ounce of common sense would know how to behave in the countryside, only morons behave otherwise. Henry's behaviour in the wild is exemplary and respectful, I think @EiricNJ you are just being pedantic with your comment!

@@cazcam2000 I'm not! Unfortunately, he scared the deer and they ran away even though it looked like he was careful. But for the future, I just wanted to remind him to not get too carried away with the photography when he sees some wildlife again. And please don't be too naive: we live in a world where morons are in abundance.

@@eiricnj7664 I think you are over reacting, you cannot totally avoid the wildlife, all you can do, is be as careful as possible. The Deer responded the way they did out of instinct, its how they have learned to survive, its programmed into their DNA. I doubt they felt afraid, that's a human emotion, rather they were just acting from instinct, a precautionary way of dealing with Henry.

@@cazcam2000 As a wildlife/landscape photographer, I don't at all mean that you should avoid wildlife. All I'm saying is that for the future I want Henry and hopefully other people too, to remember being respectful. Btw being scared and afraid is a feeling all animals have when they feel threatened. You clearly don't know enough about wildlife to comment on this at all.

@@nomadcompany Slioch is 981 metres (3218 ft) Beinn Eighe which is down the road is 1010 metres (3313 ft) With Beinn Nevis in Fort William being the highest mountain in the British Isles standing at 1345 metres (4412 ft) just to give you an idea of comparison from the mountains in Henry's video to the largest down the road being the highest. 😁👍 Got some good views of the mountains in my vlog at the same place I uploaded the other day if you want to check that out, you can see the he mountains slightly closer up when I reach the top of the opposite hill 😁👍

Hi Henry, can the cable release still be used with the L bracket in the portrait orientation? Great videos by the way.

Thanks a lot Patrick. To answer your question: you CAN use it whilst shooting in portrait dimension, but you must have the L-bracket set up in an unorthodox manner. I wouldn’t recommend it if it’s important to you. Hope that helps mate 👍🏼🍻

Nice video Henry, you should of given me a shout cos I used to live in Kinlochewe and my mate works on that estate and he just gives me a lift up the track in his truck way up past where you saw the dear 😁 save your legs and time 👍😁😁 I did a vlog on my channel up the hill looking over Loch Maree the other day and if you want to know how to pronounce Slioch give it a watch, 😁😉 its a stunning part of the country with compositions around every corner you can't go wrong, I have that on my doorstep and very lucky I can pop over whenever. 😁👍 your Slioch shot with the wee island was really nice, great light on Slioch too. 😁👍 you should give me a shout when you're up next and I'll get my mate to take us way up the track in his truck and we can stop on the way near to the dear and feed the Highland coo's and get some shots of them too 😁👍 well done mate keep it up.

@@HenryTurnerphoto Yeah it certainly saves the legs, you wouldn't be able to drive your own car up there as it's part of the estate but I can arrange a lift in the estate vehicle as far as you can go which is about 8 miles right around the back of the mountains 😁 so's not to upset the boss 😁😁 the track is not on the OS maps just now as it's a brand new track put in for the new hydro system they put on the estate which feeds electricity right over the hill down I to Lochcarron, it's an amazing system they had installed. 👍 Even the wee sub stations are really lovely made from the stone from the estate 😁

Your passion shines through and your images were good, but i think the video was too long especially at the beginning . I can't understand why you spend soooo much time vlogging when you obviously miss photo opportunities. For example when you said you had spent 2 hours and not reached the forest but then you turned to see stunning light behind you yet didnt take a picture ? I found that very strange.

Well, I stopped listening so I my have missed some delightful images. But I can easily say that you could have chopped off the first 8 to 8.5 minutes of this video and not effected anything because you really said nothing of value during that time. A lot of talk about yourself and not about photography. Sorry I could not hang in there any longer and I moved on. Wishing you all the best.
